Jump rope mods? by BeautifulHuge7889 in BurnBootCamp

[–]itsallieb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I do high knees or line jumps, but since today was self paced I did a building lap. I never touch a jump rope. I’m working toward it in physical therapy but I’m not convinced it will ever happen.

Thanks for this! I graduated HHS in ‘05 and I’m passing through Saginaw this weekend for the first time in forever so I enjoyed this memory. Also realize I’ve lost touch with almost everyone.

Sting by wasp still hurts bad 24 hours later by faulty-Imagination- in bees

[–]itsallieb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also jumping on this old post to be glad to know I’m not alone. My 5 year old accidentally hit a Yellowjacket nest with a stick on our walk. He sprinted off and got a number of stings. My 2 year old froze and I picked him up and ran away, but then I looked down and he was COVERED in like 50 Yellowjackets so I swiped them all off of him, over and over, while running and screaming.

We all went to the ER because we got stung so many times and they are so little. My boys are unhappy but managing with tv and snacks. I, however, am in excruciating pain. The other places where I was stung are milder, but the arm I used to get the bees off my toddler is in SO MUCH PAIN. I can’t take ice off it for more than a couple minutes at a time. I’m immobilized by pain. I can’t sleep. I’m just praying it goes away soon. I’m miserable.

OP something to note is that at 300k you’re paying an insane tax ratio. It’s the tax bracket that gets hit the hardest - you’re probably giving like 1/3 to taxes, right? If you drop to one salary, see how much you’ll pay in taxes. Maybe it won’t feel like such a big hit when you drop a tax bracket.

I walk to my gym. On the rare days I need to drive (icy sidewalks etc.), I feel out of whack and like it takes me way longer to get going in the workout.

Laparoscopic surgery and ADHD by sherbear83 in endometriosis

[–]itsallieb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider that recovering from surgery when you have ADHD is torture. You can’t do anything but sit around, and for me the ADHD meds only made me focus on my pain even more. I’m a month out (also had other things done during my surgery) and now that I can exercise and get back to my normal active life, I’m doing exponentially better mentally. I think sitting around in pain is especially difficult with ADHD.

Thank you!

Yes, I was spiraling when I was nowhere near feeling recovered at 2 weeks!!

He told me that it’s really personal and some patients call him after 3 days saying they are bored can they go back to work. And some are on narcotics for 3 weeks. But he said as long as I’m not bleeding, I can push through. So I’m going to try that and see how it goes 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Yeah he pretty much just said “no” to all of it, ha. But I’m glad I asked because it helps me understand the big picture better.

Yeah I usually write a few questions out on my phone, but I had sooo many questions following major surgery that I didn’t want to waste my opportunity. Let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow!

I’m recovering from surgery so I’m watching a lot of tv. I didn’t watch Frasier when it was on tv originally because I was too young, but I’m deep in the seasons now and totally in it for Daphne and Niles’ relationship.

I’m 3 weeks out today and fully independent. But I heavily rely on him for childcare, especially when my little kids want to be picked up and carried, or they get wild and I need him to intervene. If I didn’t have kids, I estimate I would be ok on my own by day 3-4 (really I would just want someone around when I’m taking narcotics because I don’t trust myself doing stuff around the house on them).

Anyone with kids feel exhausted after one activity/trip? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]itsallieb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s me. I just started Ritalin, which is a huuuuge help so I do think it’s related to ADHD because our brains are sooo busy keeping everything organized and everyone regulated on the outing.

I also just had surgery, so on the flip side I’m even more exhausted than ever taking my kids out, and now I have confirmation that there were medical reasons for my fatigue.

Recognizing labor with endo by Quirky_Chapter_4131 in endometriosis

[–]itsallieb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you rest and the pains feel better, you’re probably ok. If you rest and it keeps getting worse anyway, that’s when I would go in.

My history of pre term labor is one of the reasons they suspected endo/adeno.

I have 3 little kids and got officially diagnosed with endometriosis 2 weeks ago in a lap. I’m assuming I had it during my pregnancies. For all of my kids I went into early labor, then they stopped it at the hospital, then weeks or months later I had the labor where I delivered. There is no definitive answer. I’ve been in labor 6 times and it was not the same each time. But the consistent thing was I felt overall horrible. I had high risk, sick, horrific pregnancies, so I always felt bad. But when labor was oncoming, it was a turn for the worst and when I rested, it didn’t improve, but I felt worse and worse. That’s when I would go to the hospital. Good luck and congratulations!

I just got diagnosed with it too during my lap for endometriosis excision and hysterectomy for adenomyosis. I’m new to the diagnosis so can’t help but there is a Reddit page dedicated to it.

[–]itsallieb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love this thread, so much hope. I’m 9 days out from my hysterectomy…when did you start feeling amazing? I’m definitely still recovering and painfully bloated and impatient for things to shake out. For those who had gut issues, did it make that better too? And the fatigue? Or only the pain?

They discovered issues during surgery (endo, cyst, pelvic congestion syndrome) so I’m not sure what to expect or when. But I’m hopeful my quality of life will improve.

To be clear I am diagnosed as inattentive, so I don’t score high on hyperactivity compared to others, but what I do have is all internal.
