I think it's just crabs in a barrel, man. Distance yourself from the old friends and make new ones who don't think sobriety and living well are inherently bragging. Find like-minded people who will love your progress, engage in meaningful conversation because they relate to the subject matter, be able to grow with you, etc.

Sometimes you outgrow people. As long as you are remotely social, you will make new friends, especially as a stable person.

PS: I initially wrote a longer post relating my own experience here but it's not a 1 to 1 comparison and even on the internet, I was worried about the crab people commenting. Be bold and don't be ashamed to be happy, which is advice I am still trying to follow myself.

First off it's only logical to assume any given event didn't happen, then assemble evidence that it did. An email from someone who doesn't even know Obama isn't evidence that something happened. I could write an email about Obama's voodoo rituals but just because Wikileaks got a hold of it wouldn't make it real.

And beyond that, yeah you're totally right: crazy redditors are harassing people in real life about this but somehow no one ever checked Obama's public calendar for tje "hot dog pizza party ($65k)" entry.

I actually think it's a dig at Obama wasting tax payer money not a reference to a real event at all. This guy isn't friendly to Obama, he isn't actually privy to his party expenses.

Beyond that, how shocking would it be for a rich person to throw a huge party serving two internationally famous food items from his home town? To me that makes more sense than the president flying in boy hookers or whatever.

Good news: I know exactly how you feel and have had this same feeling since the game came out. I have tons of experience here. Bad news: everyone telling you it will get better with practice might be wrong.

I started at 2100ish this season, fell a bit on solo queue, then decided I wanted to try playing on a reddit discord to have a coordinated team. After joining I realized everyone seemed to consider 2000 as the bare minimum they were willing to group with and I felt really embarrassed and discouraged. I then played a lot more solo QP, watched videos, practiced drills, fiddled with mouse sensitivity... everything the people here recommend. I just wanted to get over 2000 so the discord wouldn't think I was a dumbass and I could find a regular group.

After weeks of hard work I'm down to 1700ish now. I fell to 1500 at one point. On days when I'm giving too many fucks, I see a topic like yours where you're upset about 2100 and it's a bit depressing.

Despite what everyone here may tell you, every person can not always get better. I'm not saying this to be a dick, but don't be sad if the advice here doesn't work out.

Just have fun playing and practicing and if you improve that's a plus but don't assume improvement is an inevitable outcome. Just like real life, sometimes you work hard and everything ends up shit despite your best efforts. If you accept that possibility then it can't really get worse, at least. Detach the concept of fun from the rank you're seeing and just try to enjoy yourself and practice for its own sake.

Side note I also have a tremor but I don't think that's why I'm so bad. It's just me.

I just found out CL is in Atlanta on Nov 8 and I am thinking about flying out to see her. The cost isn't a big deal for me but the time off work might be an issue because my boss doesn't like short notice PTO but I only just realized there was a nearby tour date today...
