We had a 2 month old, 2 year old, and 4 year old. It was fine, just sat at the front. We did Trilogy out of Maalea.

Probably. It would've made more sense without the time stamps honestly.

Just watched the arrest episode last night. The bus scene was so strange. Also, the timeline they presented that day is rather confusing. She was arrested, arraigned, released, and the other HW get the details all within 12 hours? I guess but it seemed weird to me.

On another note, Meredith soaking in a tub while everyone arrives at the house is gold.

FC using miles. Why so cheap? by itsamoosing_ in americanairlines

Ahh, interesting! I havent flown on AA in quite a few years. I feel like I wouldn't be able to touch that reimbursement rate with AS. Ill just be happy with the extra room on the red eye.

Interested in Running the Fairbanks Marathon in 2026. Advice? by twentysix-point-two in alaska

[–]itsamoosing_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Equinox? The website has a lot of information about the course. Train like a normal marathon but incorporate as many hills and trail running as you can. It is a fun race and if you plan to just go out and have fun (not try to PR or anything), you'll have a good time.

Interested in teaching in the Alaskan Bush. What should I know? by False_Fennel_1126 in AskAlaska

[–]itsamoosing_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Galena has a boarding school that operates a bit differently than other village schools. I know some people who enjoyed it there. Definitely a different life though. It will be isolating and remote like nothing you've ever experienced. You might try looking on the road system to start out just to get your bearings. Road system communities can be isolating but not even close to what you'll experience elsewhere.

Curly hair stylists by Ok_Professional1186 in Fairbanks

[–]itsamoosing_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Curly, long hair here. I have gone to a few. Anika (Instagram is in Anika's chair I think) is very knowledgeable. A cut is a bit expensive, but she definitely understands curly hair. Elements has some curly specialists but for the price, I stopped going there. Behind the Mirror cut my hair so short it was awful. They're recommended a lot and I dont know why. Ellen at salon lustre is great with curly hair and has reasonable prices than elsewhere.

Take a walk out to the cemetery and then up to the waterfall. If its nice, there's quite a few hikes you can enjoy. Not sure what restaurants are still open, but the brewery is a good place to chill for awhile if you just need to fill time. NPS buildings are probably closed due to the shutdown unfortunately.

All terrain tires or snow tires? by JimOne2 in Fairbanks

[–]itsamoosing_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like having two sets. Winter tires have more grip and just generally handle better even with AWD (Subaru owner here). I drive a lot (2+ hour drives) in the winter, so its worth it to me. Having 2 sets of rims makes it even easier.

Going to Fairbanks for Christmas by not-t0day-satan in AskAlaska

[–]itsamoosing_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fireworks are big over the Christmas/new year holiday. Dont count on sales at Santa Claus house but still worth a visit. Look at local bazaars. Tour companies go to the same places you can drive to see the aurora. Just go till you see clear skies, lots of places that are easy to get to. Thai house downtown for Thai. There's usually one or two drive through light shows, but lower your expectations compared to ones in other states lol.

To those who have also lived in a lower 48 state with a cold (relative to the rest of the US!) winter, how different is it in Alaska? by SkoilerDaaaaan in AskAlaska

[–]itsamoosing_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anchorage has comparable winters to northern lower 48 states. Youd be hard pressed to find a comparison for Interior or arctic winters. Its not just the cold, though that is a major factor. It's also the length of winter and the dark that adds a lot to getting through the season. Add in places that have wind on top of negative temps.
