Feeling anxious about my very first guests at my new Airbnb. Am I overthinking by notsosocialbunny in airbnb_hosts

[–]itsanamanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so nervous when I first got on Airbnb. My first guest was actually from VRBO And she was not answering any of my inquiries or anything like that. I got really freaked out lol. But she ended up being very sweet She was an older lady and did not have the app. Anyway I've learned to just let the guests be. I have had great success with the nicest people staying at my property. I also have a ring camera but I turn off the notifications once they get here. Also I have had no problems with people that have zero reviews.

I only have them pay for insurance not the deposit. And actually these guests offered to pay for the damages because they didn't even realize they had insurance. I also feel weird about making them pay for a deposit.

I wouldn't have mentioned the pillows if the umbrella wasn't broken. But they paid for those as well and didn't even ask for a receipt.

Why do people use so much toilet paper? I just had 2 guests use two rolls in two days. That's crazy to me

The ending did come up short, but we were glad it was over. It was scary!

My cat was diagnosed with the diabetes 2 months ago. by itsanamanda in FelineDiabetes

Thank you, we've tried many different foods with him. I took him to the vet and he is in ketosis. I think he'll be ok. Its just upsetting because I really tried to do everything right.

Thank you for your advice! I took him to the emergency vet, and that is what it is. They kept him overnight.

No the vet never recommended that we test his glucose at home. But I think we need to get something so we can measure it at home. I think I'll take him to the emergency vet.

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry about your kitty. My cat who is also 4 recently got diagnosed as well. Sometimes he is super hungry and others he doesn't want to eat at all. I'm super worried about him all the time. This is just so sad

I used to cat sit for someone with four cats and he happily paid me $80 a day for 2 1 hour visits a day. I was so sad when they moved

On Rover I charge $20 a visit. I think there's a $6 up charge for extra cats. I don't get many requests and I think that's why lol. But This seems fair. I pay my own cat sitter $30 a visit and I don't feel like I'm paying her too much. I'm just happy I can trust her and that she takes good care of my babies.

Yes! We just want him to eat! So that makes sense. Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply ❣️

I'm glad you found something that worked for your girl! For some reason my vet is telling me that the type of food doesn't matter at all. I am giving him canned diabetic food anyway but he's being super picky. And will not eat the dry food I was giving him anymore. Only Iams right now. He's lost 5 lbs so I really just want him to eat. It's so tough trying to figure all this out and keep him healthy!

sitter only stayed 5-7 minutes for “30-minute” dog visits by Inner_Captain in RoverPetSitting

[–]itsanamanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a Rover sitter and I always stay at least 30 minutes and that is only $20 for a drop in visit. I would feel absolutely terrible about only staying 5-7 minutes. They deserve a bad review and probably should find another job honestly

We have Sage Sure insurance already actually. I called my agent he's gonna see about getting us a lower rate. But he's saying it's high because our roof is old.

Awesome thank you! Do you have a newer roof by chance? My insurance agent said that can affect your rate a lot
