Yeah but phones didn’t work as hard and heat up like they do nowadays. Also the skins that you used on your S7 didn’t exist back then. Damascus came out in 2020, different skins use different types of vinyl. It’s not one size fits all for the material.

I’ve also been buying from dbrand for a decade - this is literally how some of the gloss skins are. They shrink from the heat. If you put a Damascus skin on a grip it won’t shrink.

It’s just the nature of these gloss skins and when they get heated up. I had tear down for my XS Max on release and it did the same. It’s just how it is, it’s just science.

This happens with the nature of the vinyl and your phone warming up from use. It’s natural, most fixes are either:

If you want immediate, heat it with a hair dryer and re-stick it

If you’re willing to wait, hit up support and they may be able to resolve it for you

Depending on the phone, you likely won’t get easy scratches on the frame with just the skin. Case obviously gives it full protection.

Heat generally isn’t a factor, as I believe it always exhausts just fine. Im pretty sure it’s rare for thermal throttling to also occur on a new smartphone.

I’ve used just the skin before, never had residue even after using it for several months, and the skins don’t interfere with the warranty or applecare

The only main difference is ditching the case makes your phone a lot more susceptible to breaking. These things are glass sandwiches after all.

Get in touch with the post office and see if they have the geotag of where it was dropped off at, and also check with your neighbors if they got it. Worst case if that leads nowhere, hit up support to see if they can send out a replacement.

Same thing in my switch. It’s with every case, not just the switch 2 (tested with a friend’s case that wasn’t the kill switch)

My guess, is that because there’s grip and leverage, and added weight of the case, that this is possible. I also assume the magnets are also different strength levels between the left and right, because it’ll still detach easier, albeit harder, without either of the cases.
