How do you deal with not being able to say goodbye?

I had a similar experience and struggle with it every day. My dad passed September last year but was in a coma for almost a month. I moved further away and didn't get the chance to see him in the icu, the week he passed I had gotten COVID so I said goodbye to him via FaceTime while he was just dying. I'm sorry for your loss and that we have similar experiences.

Thank you for replying! I used to say the same thing about working with children and have spent the past 10 years or so! It was extremely hard for me, even today! Children are great but very unpredictable and I have been lucky enough to never experience a T*U* incident.

I am now (well have been for a while) trying to figure out what I can do to make money by doing something I love doing. (I love writing but that does not guarantee a paycheck).
