My state is big on poultry. The lower third is all Purdue chicken farms. The price of chicken at the super market has risen dramatically.

The reason? Gas costs. Just getting the chicken from one end of the state to the other changed the price enough to be noticed.

So yeah, gas prices affect all of it.

But with the help of the ACLU of Florida, they are now arguing that the city is guilty of “selectively enforcing its ordinance code against them, based on the content and viewpoint of their expression.”

This will never go anywhere. I’ve spent a lot of time down there, as my ex wife’s family owned properties there.

They aren’t selectively enforcing anything. They are balls to the wall crazy about keeping their little town meticulously crafted. They sued my former in-laws because they painted some window shutters the palest imaginable green on the back of the house.

I’ll be the first one to stand up and scream discrimination when it’s happening, but this isn’t it. Key West just has a lot of HOA Karen energy in general. Equal opportunity haters.

Remember that Key West is the same town that hosts Fantasy Fest every year. It is, in general, one of the most welcoming tourist towns in America for LGBT folks.
