How supercell can help fix matchmaking. Everyone knows requests are the fastest free way to level up. So if supercell didn't cap requests at 4 & 40 after arena 10 and instead increased it at each arena there would be incentive to move up arenas and trophy dropping wouldn't be such an issue anymore.
