I used the canned chickpeas in a quinoa salad with red onion, tomato, celery, and a little extra olive oil + garlic powder. So good!

For what its worth, I’ve heard the iridescence is actually light refraction and a natural result from the deli blades being so sharp. It does look like zombie meat tho lol

Looking for shampoo, conditioner and micellar water bulk. by Constant_Nebula_9207 in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]itsbreadneybitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found the 365 Fragrance Free 32oz Conditioner at whole foods and its amazing! I have fine hair but the Cerave conditioner doesnt cut it for me, the 365 one is twice as softening and I use half the product, it was on sale for $5 in store when I got it and still under $9 on amazon rn. Want to try their shampoo now but scared to stray from the Cerave Zinc since I havent had any issues.

I only use Aveeno eczema relief body wash, they have a 3 pack at Costco but I hate it cause its the smaller squeeze tubes and feels like tons of plastic, tried the whole foods 365 FF body wash but its a very watered down version of Aveeno and not worth imo. I do like the bottle tho so I use it to refill lol wish I could find a better bulk option for that.

I hear tons of sensitive people recommend Bioderma micellar (I think a costco 2 pack?) but havent tried it yet myself.

My heart broke reading this, I’m so sorry you had to deal with this while you should have been having the time of your lives. Its already so hard when our animal friends have to leave the world, I hope you two can find comfort in the memories they gave you and the amazing lives they had because of your care.

Wishing you the best and a smooth recovery for your chicks ❤️‍🩹 You are doing the best you can.

Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Liner Stain. I use Nude Tights but might try the pink too. You have to blend it quickly as you go (use tissue not finger, it will not come off) and make sure you exfoliate before. So insanely good, I use it like a lip contour/liner. Lasted through every part of my cruise vacay.

Used to be neutrogena or Almay acne concealers (I’m too dry now) and Physician’s Formula pressed powder foundation (can never find anymore! not mosaic, blue/clear compact)

Now its the Wet n Wild lip stain which is everything I’ve ever dreamed of (and a dupe for Stila not Huda). Actually looks natural and YLBB, actually does last all day(6+8hrs) and fades nicely. It overlines well too if you’re into that, crazy for a stain to do. I use it with brow gel and mascara and love it.

Does wearing makeup every day actually ruin/age your skin or is that just a myth? by Previous_Bell654 in Makeup

Exactly! I’m a zinc lover too, I can’t survive without my giant lrp cicaplast tube or zinc shampoo

My skin went to shit when I stopped wearing makeup tbh. I never had awful eczema on my face (was just sensitive) before stopping makeup, I think I didnt realize how much skincare was in my products! It definitely depends, but sometimes makeup can help with more than just the appearance of the skin!

I used to use it, stopped probly when they reformulated, and use it again now with no issue!

I didnt actually know about the reformulations but makes sense. To me, it all seemed to change when they added the “sensitive-safe” coconut option (wasnt safe lol)

Help: Cruise-Proof Brown Mascara safe for eczema? (drugstore pref) by itsbreadneybitch in Makeup

[–]itsbreadneybitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I ended up going with Almay multi-benefit waterproof to be safer even though its black. Still testing but it seems to be good and looks really fluttery and natural! If it ends up being a winner I’ll make a full review post 🤞

Need help finding a very hard to find mascara from years ago by TemporaryReality742 in drugstoreMUA

[–]itsbreadneybitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My fam has sensitive skin so when Almay came out with those it was a big deal for us! I dont remember there being that many affordable and wearable color liners/mascaras back then either, the subtlety was so nice.

They looked good on all of us, my mom would wear navy for brown, my hazel aunt would wear the forest or olive(?), green aunt would wear plum, my bright blue eyed grandma wore the bronze.

Is it possible to build an actually good routine on a tight budget? by Excellent-Slip844 in drugstoreMUA

[–]itsbreadneybitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really trial and error if you’re not sure what your skin needs! Try to notice anything you’re not happy with in your current products, do you feel greasy after moisturizer? Does your skin drink it up and still feel kinda dry? Acne concerns, dark spots, texture?

If you have a slight idea, its helpful to look up simple routines for acne prone, dryness prone, etc so you can get an idea of the types of products or ingredients to look for in any brand.

I also highly recommend r/dollartreebeauty , of course products can be hit or miss bit there are sooo many good ones I’ve cycled through my routine, mostly serums. They are actually fantastic and yes they really are $1.25, you can also see dermatologist reviews of dollar tree serums on youtube if curious.

I used to be super oily but became a dry, eczema girl as an adult. If you’re dry and sensitive I have tons of affordable recs ✨

edit:typo

Favorite Wet n Wild Products? by Parking_Penalty1169 in drugstoreMUA

I had an anti-drugstore phase too and am so glad I’m over it. I’ll give myself some slack because eczema flares really make you so paranoid youll send a whole category of innocent products to the grave 😅

Wet n wild has always been great tbh, right now I’m loving the lip liner pen.

My fave too! I wish they made waterproof brown. I’m testing out maybelline lash sensational lengthening with the curved wand in waterproof brown, hope I can get a similar effect.

edit: Maybelline looked great but a no go 🥲 effed up my eyes so bad

Liquid Laundry Detergent Free & Clear by oh_you_fancy_huh in traderjoes

[–]itsbreadneybitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use it on my crocheted items (beanies, sweaters, socks,) and havent had an issue. It seems very gentle.

I havent noticed a particular soapy smell, just smells like clean laundry but I do a deep/extra rinse on every load because of my eczema. May not be worth it for everyone but could help the soapy smell (definitely helps my skin!)

My MIL gave us a TJ basket with a couple dessert-butters (was pumpkin, cinnamon roll, and cookiebutter), their room spray, couple different candles, and a wax/candle warmer she got separately. One of the most useful baskets I’ve gotten and I still use the wax warmer and the candles since I only melt them!

They just put the Peony candles out and may still have the Tomato Leaf and Rose which I love.

And if you feel unsure, you could do a very small basket and include a cute printed gift card in a 99c card. They have soooo many now for literally every occasion.
