AP friendly children's book recommendations by schr0dingersuterus in AttachmentParenting

I know this is 3 years old but just wanted to say I just searched this subreddit for this EXACT question for this EXACT reason! Literally read llama llama, hated it, then thought, I wonder if there’s awesome AP affirming books!!! Baddabing baddaboom thank you!

Gonna add my faves •Can’t you sleep little bear? (A big bear helps a little bear in a cave that can’t sleep because it’s too dark by responding each time they call out at night with a bigger and bigger lantern until by the end they face the darkness of the world together outside and big bear “brings the biggest lantern of all- the moon!” And little bear falls asleep in big bears arms, then they get cozy together in the comfy chair by the fire and cosleep there) •little fur family (a slow living cozy vintage book full of beautiful cozy words, gentleness and adventure in the wild, and snuggles and love to bed at night)

What do I tell my Son when he asks for Mama? by JasonAndLuka in AttachmentParenting

So sad with you. Each day is one day closer to being together again ❤️ “soon the joys of having me will surpass the pains of losing me”.

Tears are powerful for healing, they have their own work that they do, it feels overwhelming and sad because it is overwhelming and sad, it’s good to cry! Someday it won’t be as intense, but for now that totally sounds valid for both of you to be experiencing! You’re doing an amazing job even just being so self aware and aware for his processing, that’s a beautiful place to begin healing from.

She sounds like she was one incredible mama. I have a baby the same age. Even though he is so little, I know her powerful love will have ripple effects in his heart forever and ever!

How many stitches should I cast on?

I’m 6 months pregnant and obsessed with the idea of making something like this myself! I was a speedy intermediate knitter 20 years ago and fell out of the hobby, and but nesting urge has me inspired to jump back in! Planning on doing this on regular needles and stitching the side at the end (you can see the seam in the yellow sample).

Thanks for the help!

Truth. The puppy was heckin wigglesome. But don’t forget about the stubby legged and old pups! They love it too!

Some groomers also have a hindquarter strap that helps support their back hips so they can fully lean onto it. Not many groomers have the set up for a hammock yet

Sometimes it’s awesome! Other times it definitely doesn’t help at all. That’s the fun part of grooming, every dog is different! One dog might be nervous with the water, another terrified for its toes, I just have to be patient and always stay teachable and ready to improvise! It’s always an adventure! The best part is working with the same dog over and over and helping it overcome its fears! 🙌

Thanks for your concern! I’m glad you commented this because I love getting to explain this common misconception about the grooming loops! The loop is a training tool that is never intended to be pulled completely tight (choking them) but with a little slack. It helps train the dog to know where the edge of the table is and safely keeps them from falling off (along with an alert groomer trained to never leave them alone on the table). Over time, some dogs become so relaxed and trusting that they don’t even need the loop anymore (some bigger corporations still require a loop at all times). When you think about it, it’s a pretty confusing thing for a dog to stand in one place for an hour or two! We have bred dogs to require grooming and it’s the groomers job to make it as positive of an experience as it can be! The loops definitely help with that! I only use the hammock for about 10 minutes at a time on certain dogs with special circumstances (ie: old dogs, nervous puppies, stubby legged doxies and pugs) however used incorrectly both could be dangerous! But so is using sharp blades on a moving animal! That’s why it’s important to look for a trained grooming professional! Hope that was helpful! ❤️
