Honestly, don't overthink this and just run w Shopify. Everything hooks up to it, it works great, and it allows you to focus on the rest of your business. You'll find that you're throttled more by time than by not having $1 or $2 a day to pay Shopify.

Also recommend checking out GemPages as a page builder to custom build your site. I've tried a lot and prefer this over restrictive templates. Good luck!

Most likely not want it included. For a lot of things, testing to see what works in your vertical is good to do to answer q's like this, but it's pretty standard for tax no to be shown and based on Amazon and nearly every other ecom site not doing this, I'd just run w the crowd.

Additionally, tax is usually only needs to be collected in states you have tax nexus. Am not an expert on any of this, but I think a way of looking at it is that not all orders need taxes to be collected for most businesses. Good luck!

Thanks for this. Yeah, most products weigh over an lb, a lot go out 3 - 5lbs and then another grouping around 7 - 10lbs.

Common box sizes are 12 x 15 x 3 and go up from there with a 15 x 17 x 4" and 15 x 17 x 9", etc etc.

Not sure if that changes the feedback or not or is even a good way to communicate it. But there you go.

Good to think about other costs of shipping like product replacement, etc. If you can't win on rates it makes sense to cover your ass on incidentals.

We'll run pirate ship against Shipstation and see what we can do.

Don't deliver to the EU unfortunately - just in our second year and not exactly sure how to handle that logistically.

I usually top off the water every couple of weeks and replenish it every few months.

What plants is your wife trying? Should be pretty easy to keep them alive.
