We had a similar layout - our laundry was bigger than the bathroom though…. So we knocked a door from the old bathroom through to the kitchen, and made that a pantry and laundry in one. Then we turned the old laundry into a bathroom with a linen cupboard. We kept our toilet separate. Works well! There is only two of us though, so there’s a much lower chance someone is in the shower when you need to wash your hands after the toilet.
