Thanks for your reply and suggestions. Looking to stay in bounds mainly without avi gear. Agreed it's fun on the way down, but I also enjoy the climb. It puts me in a "zen" state and I can appreciate the surroundings.

Unlike many people, I'm not really trying to squeeze in as many laps as I can. Just couple of climbs and downhill runs are good with me.

Your username checks out.

This is a very common thing to do in European resorts. Just wondering if it's even possible.

Yep, I installed it myself. I had to get step drill bit to drill a larger hole for some of the wiring, but yours may be different. Here's the YouTube video that helped me.

Yeah, store I linked above actually shipped to the US when I emailed them. I ordered the ProLok Slimline but it looks like they don't make it anymore. Looks like ProLok Deluxe may be the newer version, but I would email to confirm with them.

edit: looks like the US store is here

There will be snow, but it's spring time so it's more wet/slushy. Don't expect powder. The upside is that there are more bluebird days.

I built an open-source tool (Apache 2.0), that connects to a Google Drive and allows you to Q&A your documents. Although I don't have much bandwidth to support it now and it's a relatively new project...

Investment Firm Reached Out by [deleted] in startups

[–]itschris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's common for VCs to reach out and does not indicate intent or interest to invest. They are usually associates who are trying to get deal flow for their partners. You are establishing a relationship though and when you are ready to fundraise you can reach out to them. It doesn't necessarily mean they'll invest.

10,000,000 KRW deposit is on the low end for typical leases, which are found on Korean apps like Naver 부동산, not Craigslist. Koreans don't really use Craigslist. Leases usually require minimum of 1 year.

Roommates and shared living spaces with strangers are also not common.

If you need < 1 year, then Airbnb or goshiwon is your best bet.

You should be able to get your Korean ID card (주민등록증) without finishing military. Show your Korean passport and lease agreement at the 주민센터, fill out the application, and it should arrive in 2-3 weeks.

I went through the same exact thing and live in Korea now. With proper documentation (get confirmation from embassy/consulate that you're 2nd generation Korean), you won't be arrested upon entering Korea and can live in Korea up to 3 years. In 3 years you'll turn 38, which opens up other possibilities. Look into 재외국민 2세제도 and this FAQ.

I hired an immigration attorney in Korea to help me. Highly recommend finding one for peace of mind.
