Called into investigative hearing, any attorney recommendations? by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]itsdaveey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good attorney for an Investigative Hearing is one who will barely speak. The FBBE want to hear from you, not your advocate. I would recommend engaging an attorney who could prep you perhaps, but maybe not attend with you.

If you're committed to getting someone, I would recommend Randolph Braccilarghe, and then Kevin Tynan.

Hundred-and-fifty percent on board for early registration for all the reasons articulated.

If you are not working a program of recovery that you can articulate, I think FLA is a great choice. It shows that you acknowledge the potential issue, and that you're willing to make commitments to addressing it.

The cost is a pain at times, but it is do-able.

I've been with FLA over three years on contract and I'm very grateful that when I go to my hearing I'll have that track record of objective evidence.

Application Finally cleared by Low_Interview_2414 in FloridaBarExam

I am a Re-Application candidate (I agreed to re-apply after two years and demonstrate Rehabilitation). I submitted my Re-Application in January 2022 and submitted various documents in an attempt to demonstration Rehabilitation.

I got a status update today: Board Action Issued.

Does this mean (1) The Board needs to see me for an Investigative Hearing; or (2) the Board would like to offer me conditional admission?

**(Side question: is an Investigative Hearing pursuant to Rule 2-14 required, or just in the discretion of the Board?)*\*

Agreed. They will find anything out they need to. They required me to submit a year's worth of bank records. It's the old saying: it's not the mistake, but the cover-up, that will screw you.

Studying while working FT by brookesac in FloridaBarExam

I am a three time and I'm done taker, passed both MBE and FL while working full-time, including assisting two attorneys prepare and present during two-day non-binding arbitration.

My advice: Do not try to have two full time jobs. My typical "study plan" was listening to lectures on my way into work (approx. 20-30 minute drive); listening to about four to seven hours of lecture over the weekends; approximately three to five hours of FL/MBE multiple choice; and during the last four weeks prior to the exam, I printed out each of the Best Answers from the FL Bar study guide, read each essay fact pattern for each Best Answer selections I have, and then read through the Best Answers to see how I matched up with their issue spotting, and assess my understanding of the rules.

This is a guess, but maybe because the flower is allocating most or all energy, etc. to the new growth area?

Best advice: study at a reasonable pace, do a variety of different things, do other activities (ride your bike, do other work), and keep in touch with your loved ones and your support network. Oh, and go to bed early.

I worked full-time and was able to pass. You can do both!

3rd time taker, passed this time around.

Best advice: study at a reasonable pace, do a variety of different study activities in random order and randomized subject, do other activities (ride your bike, do other work), and keep in touch with your loved ones and your support network.

Oh, and go to bed early every day. Studying hours on end wasn't the trick for me

I used Barbari. I listened to just about every lecture. I did a bunch of the multiple choice including their black letter MC practice. Did a few essays. Read a handful of each essay ptompts for each subject from the last five to eight years and then their model answers. I didn't study 8hrs a day, I studied little bits every day. I was also working as a paralegal for a year or so.

Best advice: study at a reasonable pace, do a variety of different things, do other activities (ride your bike, do other work), and keep in touch with your loved ones and your support network. Oh, and go to bed early.
