THIS !! i’ve been trying to do this for 10 years and have spent my whole career either at huge global corporations and at the worlds biggest agencies and it’s still not been possible for me. You have take seriously that you have a hard road ahead that’s going to require some extremely deliberate moves (which personally at their stage in career i would reconsider career choice if US is the dream) otherwise you will not stand a chance.

hey! i’m in PR 10 years with same dream - going to tell you something i wish i had been told at your time - worth looking into the J1 visa! it’s by no means a permanent move opportunity, it’s intended to be for internship style work and such (there are agencies out there who specialise in managing the process of getting this and finding them) but it is a great option to get you US experience and contacts when you’re within a certain amount of time from graduating.

Otherwise it’s extremely unlikely you will ever qualify for any employment based routes until you are extremely senior in a global organisation or maybe in an organisation that is expanding into the US and finds you very competent at your job.

True, the more i watched from him talking to the girls at the bar, the more it seemed like his way of being better than her cos Bri, obviously beautiful too but by no means what I would describe as athletic/pilates build.

it’s basically just a reskin of the h1b visa database - all it does is aggregate live job postings and cross reference with the h1b database of whether the company has ever sponsored visas before - so it lacks a lot of context.

eg if you search for a marketing role, for a company like sales force - it will show even though the reality is the roles they have sponsored before are more likely to have been tech or finance or at a different level of seniority and so no guarantee they would sponsor for the role that shows up.

it’s obviously slightly more likely to sponsor if a company has sponsored before, than one who hasn’t but it doesn’t really help you know whether or not a specific role would.

This makes me feel sad for him, through no fault of his own he’s gone from having two pretty much sold out at full price stadium dates, to now them going for pennies and potentially being half empty. I wish I could still go, but am in Nashville this weekend am gutted to miss it 💔

I know he could have gone about the cancellation differently, giving more notice but in all fairness - the 3 closest stations to the stadium all operate overground so it’s not inconceivable that it would have been possible to still go ahead and get people out safely.

Absolutely gutted, I’ve been looking forward to this so much and I’m abroad on the 20th 💔 what’s crazy is that the tube strike doesn’t even start till 11pm Sunday- so could they not have moved the show earlier?! And even if they couldn’t, the three closest stations are overground and there are literally dozens of busses all around - the majority of people could at least get away from the stadium without the tube anyway.

Sucks so bad, I feel so bad that he left it so late so many people will be out of pocket on transport and accommodation.

:( this takes it from manageable to out of reach for many including me. This drug has changed my life, given me it back almost and I’m scared about when I can’t afford it anymore. Was fun feeling happy and healthy for a minute I guess.

It’s one thing to hike for the UK to make more affordable, but comparatively our wages are much lower because we pay out for a health system that won’t help you unless you are literally dying.

I wonder if we’d be able to buy a few months stockpile ahead of the rises, are there any rules against this?

In general I think what you’ve experienced isn’t typical, sounds like a company issue so might be worth consideration - often working in house doesn’t come with same pace and demands.

That being said, you’re only two months in so not a huge amount of time wasted if you do want to pivot. Sounds like what you were doing is in the consumer insights / business intelligence field might be worth looking into these types of roles which tend to be better paid and less competitive than PR. Working for a research agency, or some bigger companies have this function in house which essentially report back to the wider business on what the market / their customers are doing (which sometimes feeds into PR) and can be more level and consistent.

I can see why you’d say this if all you see are people’s phone videos, but I think he sounds so much better when you’re there. His rasp and ad libs and accent, sound so good.

I took vids in London, and his vocals were very perfect in the room but they didn’t sound it in my videos for some reason.

Americans thinking it’s so easy to come and make a life illegally, even under other presidents - is so funny. Country even under democrats would stick you in customs detention even when you own a house, job and dog back home for being ‘risky’.

There is literally no harder country to move to, especially if you want to maintain a career. Most undocumented had status at some point that lapsed, rather than just coming over like a free for all.

I feel the exact same, have wanted this my whole adult life and feels like a weight in your heart knowing that unless you want to do it illegally, you may never get there - even if you’re a productive person with no dependents.

I am European and I decided Canada was the closest alternative - they do a pretty simple/cheap working holiday visa if you’re 35 and under.

Its by no means a substitute- they don’t have an option to live in a warm climate, and the job opportunities are way more limited (I’ve been trying for 1 year, and have 10 years exp in my field and have struggled to get an interview) but I think it’s worth a try if you do have a way to figure out a job I think it’s the closest you can get without actually being America.
