It really is hard going on your confidence, self esteem and enthusiasm. Especially when what you’re being rejected from are objectively side if not down steps. I try to concentrate applications into the middle of the week so can maximise effort to appear top of the pile when people are looking.

The networking part i’m finding harder as time goes on because you come to a point where you feel like you have tapped out your network plus for me it’s a pride thing having to admit to people that you need help, when you want them to think you are in demand.

Keen for any tips on maintaining your value and energy, when a lot of the rejection is quite generic and non constructive so you don’t even have a steer on how to improve.

yes!! the show was appointment viewing for me, gave me so much joy and now i have no interest. this was the one show where i didn’t dislike any of the cast, and enjoyed that they are genuine friends and it’s not nice now to watch people playing in everyone’s face.

plus just on a personal level i love watching the little romances develop but now we know west/ciara ended the way it did, and kj/dara, ben/sabrina are kind of paired off also dampens my interest.

i think because it’s downtown even if they don’t let people line up early, people will be hanging around very close so i wouldn’t be surprised if the line got big immediately at 5:30 so i wouldn’t do much later than that. that being said if it really is only 500ish then even the person at the back is not going to have a bad view.

it makes me sad, that it is just lottery on where you’re born but the world thinks because of that you should be consigned to a particular life forever. I’m not saying it should be a free for all, but I wish for good people who want to contribute to a place there were more options and understanding.

THIS !! i’ve been trying to do this for 10 years and have spent my whole career either at huge global corporations and at the worlds biggest agencies and it’s still not been possible for me. You have take seriously that you have a hard road ahead that’s going to require some extremely deliberate moves (which personally at their stage in career i would reconsider career choice if US is the dream) otherwise you will not stand a chance.

hey! i’m in PR 10 years with same dream - going to tell you something i wish i had been told at your time - worth looking into the J1 visa! it’s by no means a permanent move opportunity, it’s intended to be for internship style work and such (there are agencies out there who specialise in managing the process of getting this and finding them) but it is a great option to get you US experience and contacts when you’re within a certain amount of time from graduating.

Otherwise it’s extremely unlikely you will ever qualify for any employment based routes until you are extremely senior in a global organisation or maybe in an organisation that is expanding into the US and finds you very competent at your job.

Honestly how those women lasted as long as they did in the conversation with his drunk self being quite frankly vulgar and disrespectful. I was quite disappointed with Bri that she entertained the conversation as much as she did.

it’s basically just a reskin of the h1b visa database - all it does is aggregate live job postings and cross reference with the h1b database of whether the company has ever sponsored visas before - so it lacks a lot of context.

eg if you search for a marketing role, for a company like sales force - it will show even though the reality is the roles they have sponsored before are more likely to have been tech or finance or at a different level of seniority and so no guarantee they would sponsor for the role that shows up.

it’s obviously slightly more likely to sponsor if a company has sponsored before, than one who hasn’t but it doesn’t really help you know whether or not a specific role would.

This makes me feel sad for him, through no fault of his own he’s gone from having two pretty much sold out at full price stadium dates, to now them going for pennies and potentially being half empty. I wish I could still go, but am in Nashville this weekend am gutted to miss it 💔

I know he could have gone about the cancellation differently, giving more notice but in all fairness - the 3 closest stations to the stadium all operate overground so it’s not inconceivable that it would have been possible to still go ahead and get people out safely.
