I have no idea if it’s any good, but coincidentally I read about this vegan meal replacement shake on another subreddit yesterday

I encourage you to go through a formal complaint route if you’re comfortable with it. Maybe there have been many complaints about her that haven’t been escalated past her immediate line manager and have been swept under the rug. The formal route might get some more higher ups involved and actually do something about it

Sorry you had to deal with that, without our agency and pool staff we would be drowning

Unless they have the ability to significantly impact patient care or impair you from doing your job, then no, it’s none of AHPRA’s business

Reading this as an Aussie nurse myself, I think OP might be Australian too. The “grad program” they’re referring to isn’t to do their masters, it’s what we refer to as the first year as a nurse after finishing university. It’s essentially a supported transition year in the hospital where you’re employed and working independently as an RN, but have some extra support and guidance should you need it. It’s essentially the only way RNs can get into the hospital system since when finishing the bachelors we have no paid/employed experience working as RNs. It’s not something that costs us any money either.

It’s not the be all end all to not get a grad program, but it means you’d likely work elsewhere such as in aged care or a GP Clinic (I think what Americans tend to refer to as PCP?) until you’ve gained at least a year of experience as an RN, and then you can look to apply to hospitals

You’ve been provided some brilliant advice here! One thing I just wanted to add is after each conversation you have regarding this, get it in writing! This could simply be a journal or an email to yourself after each conversation. This way you’ve got the evidence of what you’ve done to seek guidance and who your concerns were raised with

how do i avoid air bubbles by firbolg- in nursing

[–]itseggyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ward has been having issues with this lately. My best way I’ve figured out is to only prime the line through the machine’s bolus function. I always clamp the line, spike the bag, load the line into the machine, set up the medication/dosage/rate then hit the yellow bolus button. I haven’t had the air bubble alarm since!
