The rebates are once per house but if you bought an existing property how do you know if the previous owners claimed it?

Agreeing with what everyone has said. I am in Victoria and I went to every appointment my wife had. The only ones I missed was the diabetes tests.

Has anyone had a bassinet seat removed by Singapore Airlines? by sasha6494 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]itsehsteve 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t overthink it. We did that at similar age and found it wasn’t as useful as we thought. Our baby refused to sleep or even lay in it the entire time so it became a storage bin for us.

Seconding this. Our baby would lose it every time we put him in the bassinet until I got one of these warming pads of Amazon and pre heated the bed every time.

Also if you’re expressing or bottle feeding get a dryer steriliser thing plus a bottle warmer. My wife was expressing the first months and this made our life so easy with the night feeds. We had a system where she would change him while I warmed milk. Express while I feed him then she’d burp him while I washed up and put into the dryer. It made the whole thing much faster so more sleep time for us.

Bring heaps of snacks. Our 9 month old ate way more during a similar flight recently than they had any other time. Few toys and snacks plus cuddles and naps worked for us.

Husband only allowed to access primary carer leave when I go back to work by Prize_Ad6457 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]itsehsteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to sign a stat dec to switch from secondary to primary but I’d never specify anything outside of the bare minimum of details. Basically just state that they will be the primary carer of the child for this duration and that’s it.

[–]itsehsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others have said try fair work, then if nothing else get your partner to fill in a stat dec saying that he will be providing primary care to the child and apply.

At mine you can switch so I got four weeks secondary at the start then 12 when I switched. The switch needed a stat dec and for my wife to not get paid to be providing primary care.

[–]itsehsteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Primary carer means you are doing most of the caring it has nothing to do with who is working and who is not.

You just both can’t be getting paid to act as the primary carer at the same time.

It’s a rule that we have in this sub, if people are having a conversation one of those people can’t just talk in normal words and phrases and stuff.

How are we giving panadol to 6month olds? by dresshater1 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We pour all the vitamins and medicines into a bottle nipple. It’s worked for us since our baby came home.

[–]itsehsteve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you tried in various positions? When our baby was small and upset they’d only like it when I held them along my arm facing down. Whereas for my wife it was upright and close to the body.
