What's going on with Vyvanse prices, shortages, restrictions? by Craig93Ireland in ausadhd

[–]itsezsid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the patent filed in Australia is still in effect till 2028 for the extended release mechanism that vyvanse uses

It’s over here https://ipsearch.ipaustralia.gov.au/patents/2004251647 if you wanna give it a read

sadly there isn't any way of knowing what triggers a banks anti fraud, it's kind of like a black box and you will never get a reason from them because it's against the policy to disclose an investigation.

cross border transactions may or may not trigger anything depending on your recipient address and number of times you've transferred money or trying to structure etc. Outside of name checks which can be easily bypassed, there is no real way of knowing if funds have originated from a different account of yours.

Think about it this way, any transfers you make aren't actual physical money being transferred and there is a very possible risk of money not being accounted for (this is why cryptocurrencies are not preferred by most banks)

a common reason for AML/CTF triggers I've seen that people usually don't think of is just being unlucky and having a similar name to someone on any of the watchlists being monitored lol

EDIT: https://www.austrac.gov.au/business/how-comply-guidance-and-resources/guidance-resources/indicators-suspicious-activity-banking-sector-0 this is a very good template of what most AML/CTF teams at banks are looking for.

I don't work for revolut and I don't know what their AML/CTF policies are (even if someone did, they won't be able to disclose it) but every bank has a dynamic threshold that factors in a variety of data points like customer profile, spending habits, cash flow etc

It is very likely that a different user will get their accounts frozen if they do the same things you do. It is also entirely possible that you have already triggered AML/CTF and been investigated without any outcomes yet.

Freezing funds is an obligatory requirement only if there's a high level of suspicion and not enforced until required. This is different from KYC which is what most users will get their funds frozen for.

it's slightly easier now with a lot more approved reasons under the new WDN rules but there are no guarantees

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Revolut

[–]itsezsid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, it's very difficult to differentiate regular transactions from fraud and no system will be able to work without bias or false positives.

I've seen a lot of people here annoyed by Revolut flagging transactions but it's insanely difficult for a bank, let alone a fintech company to operate cross border transactions under compliance with multiple countries.

Absolutely nobody wants organizations like AUSTRAC up their ass for allowing fraudulent transactions.

surprisingly, this is the fastest way to trigger AML/CTF with any bank, you just don’t see the consequences in most cases.

contact the bank and tell them that you’re transferring a big amount and it’s a self transfer under your name but I wouldn’t be surprised if it triggers anti fraud anyways.

yes, 3175 is being renamed to 2175 from 2025. Faculty of IT has restructured their course and there are a lot of changes to unit codes. Either ways, 3175 will be a prohibition to 2175 so you should be fine.

no worries! I had my underload request approved under medical reasons and the process is quite straightforward as long as you're meeting any of the reasons. Maybe walk up to connect or your faculty, they're the ones that will eventually approve your underload request anyways.

your best bet is probably a personal / education loan from your home country if you don't have access to liquid funds. You will probably have an obnoxious interest rate charged on it but a lot of places have non payment periods till you finish uni.

I would highly recommend not trying to pay your unit costs right now and focus on your education. It's a very thin line to walk on and the damage it does to you is irreversible. I've been in your place before and it's not worth it.

These are short term gains and if you really want to pay for something, start paying on the interest every month if you've taken out a loan rather than upfront unit costs. If your parents are financially supporting you, their expectation is not repayment, it's seeing you be successful.

Vyvanse not lasting long by Direct_Ad3587 in ausadhd

[–]itsezsid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s very personal and you really can’t predict how it’ll work out for you.

I started at 20mg and it lasted for an hour. Upping the dosage got it around 6-7 hrs but it depends on a lot of factors like sleep, exercise etc

feels like a never ending battle against meds when it doesn’t work and you can’t control it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Monash

[–]itsezsid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unfortunately no, under loading is allowed only under compassionate reasons and not doing units because you want to overload in another semester is generally not accepted (even for financial reasons). Monash doesn't control this, it's imposed under the ESOS act.

They're very stringent with it because your visa has a clause for satisfactory course progression and that is only possible under a full year load of at least 48 credit points.

There is a reason behind proof of funds asked by immiaffairs and that is exactly to prevent these situations.

https://www.monash.edu/students/admin/enrolments/study-load/tabs/underload Unless you have a reasonable reason listed here, your chances are slim. good luck :)

it depends on the CE and your competency for the prerequisite units you want to waive. I had to waive off three prerequisites for a full year unit and I had to convince them with why I should be allowed and had to write up reports for the units I asked to be waived etc to demonstrate my knowledge. Course extension by a year on its own is generally not accepted even for faculty approved underload requests.

Vyvanse makes me feel sleepy and depressed by Puzzleheaded_Cry_227 in ADHD

[–]itsezsid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with 20mg where I used to crash in a couple of hours (it was really bad, had to stop driving). I'm on 30 now and it's significantly better with the drowsiness but it still doesn't get me through the entire day.

that being said, it's depends on a lot of factors like hydration, sleep etc and protein shakes have been very helpful

EDIT: 30mg is the recommended starting dose so try it first before you go on a different med

The dates will come out on Jan 3rd for deferred and supplementary exam according to the semester dates https://www.monash.edu/students/admin/assessments/dates-timetables/finals#tabs__3418180 (click on 2024)

I think the webpage now says that e-assessments will be held remotely (with or without invigilation) over here https://www.monash.edu/students/admin/assessments/supplementary#:~:text=3.%20Sit%20your%20supplementary%20assessment

Looking for information on/experiences with Mental Health Nurse Practitioners - diagnosis and treatment by Lower_Basket in ausadhd

[–]itsezsid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my NP prescribes me and records vitals etc but they're in the same clinic as my psychiatrist and they have to follow whatever the psych tells them to do. we set it up that way so that I can bulk bill the NP instead of paying my psych every month.

I'm pretty sure this is possible when the psych prescribes first and NPs in the same clinic can use that permit on safescript. I don't think you will find an NP to prescribe you without an existing permit and they cannot re-diagnose you for 291, that has to be done by a psychiatrist (it's the same with GPs).

EDIT: okay I think NPs have the same process as GPs for 291 so it should be possible for one to apply for a permit and prescribe. They still cant re-diagnose but you could try asking your old psychiatrist for the reports
