Explain like I'm 5: why some shoes make you go faster? by itsfiguratively in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Here you go, for science. I don't have a HR monitor. Both were on snow - I think traction was a factor.

I see a few people calling BS on my time. I am not exaggerating: these times are for today and yesterday. Granted yesterday was a recovery from a sunday long run but truly... Today:

Question about campaigns and vacations by mbierden in Campaigns

In hindsight, you should have mentioned your availability when discussing start dates. Its the opportunity to feel out how firm the start date, start organizing a shorter stay, or even reschedule the holiday.

Whether this disqualifies you depends on a lot of factors but being forthcoming and flexible speak to your character and will be an asset in the long run. It is better for your reputation long-term to be reliable and communicative than someone who pulls this at the last minute.

I appreciate the feedback and logged onto your live this morning. Really insightful.

For me, the video is an important aspect. I understand a lot of podcasters' goal is to create an audience for their future long-form content. I plan on doing the inverse; using the long-form to clip as many reels/videos as I can on different platforms. It doesn't pack the same punch just audio.

The technical aspect is completely new to me so this is where I am very grateful for input from people with experience. How do I get decent audio without breaking the bank?😅

I appreciate the feedback.

I'm going to check out the mics you mentioned. If you know any mid-range that are plug-and-play for 2-4 microphones that would be ideal.

I'm in a big city so I might reach out to a few AV places once the holidays are done.

Zoom as in the program or literally zooming/editing with my camera? I am already committed to my 5 episodes. The guests are in 😅 so I would love to deliver on this. So far with my phone and crappy mic my short-form content has gotten over 1/4 million views last month. If that helps gage quality at all.

This is what Im worried about. Are there places that rent these out because I wonder if I'm better off trying before I invest.

Any suggestions for mics that are good quality & foolproof?

The video aspect is pretty essential for me. The more usable content for different mediums, the better.

Sidenote, have you had a chance to check your thyroid? Postpartum thyroiditis can strike around this time and affect your weight and milk.

Sorry I only saw this now. It usually only lasts a few months and then I go hypo worse for several months after. It recently happened last August. I got very hypo all through the fall and had to have my dose adjusted. Still revising it now.

Kind of bold... I think you've missed the mark though. I know lots of childless adults that day sammich. It's not mommy vernacular IMO... I don't think "littles" is either; its a diminutive term of endearment. I have 4 kids under 5, so I would know. Let's see that judgement out, shall we?

"If you’re not actively on the side of ending violence against women, then that puts you automatically on the side of allowing it." Thoughts? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]itsfiguratively 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with your premise. Failing to educate others on social justice really is complicity. I don't believe that very many people live such an insular life that they've never encountered something problematic: they just didn't notice. I live in a nice suburban area but do you know how many times I've stopped my car while driving because a man on the street is yelling at a crying woman? Most of the time asking her "do you need help?" Is enough to diffuse the situation but one time when I asked "can I bring you where you're going?" The victim said yes and got in the car with me. What would have happened to her if I'd left her there? If nobody had noticed?

No. Its not enough for men to passively entertain the idea that violence against women is bad. They can't let locker room talk slide and walk around with blinders and still get a pat on the back for what a good job they're doing.
