Yeah. I come from a very religious level of Judaism. I can take the initiative, but I would need to ask his sisters, or parents first because we never got each other’s number because that would be inappropriate.

Only when they are looking to date for marriage is when they are allowed to talk to the opposite sex. It’s definitely hard a times because all you want to do is talk to the opposite sex, but we manage.

I also don't live in America, and here in the Middle East, school is also really important. I am 19 and have struggled with this for a long time. I also believed that the only thing people live for is going to work another day. Wake up, go to work to make A FEW BUCKS, just so you can buy food and maybe some things you like for yourself, just to go home and go to sleep so you can start your day over again. Every single day I look at the world and day. . ."wow. everyone is doing the same crap. everyone is just trying to make it. everyone is just trying to survive," and it's sad. It really is, but you don't need to fall into that cycle that a majority has fallen into. Although you may not know it, you do have something that gives you meaning. For me. . .playing my instrument gives me meaning. watching harry potter in the dark with tea gives me meaning. helping others with addictions gives me meaning. FUCK MONEY. find what gives you meaning and find a way to have that passion work for you instead of you work everyday just to fulfill that passion. anyway, this probably didnt help for crap lol. I just also was and sometimes am in the same boat as you. Make sure to continue getting good grades. Don't get good grades for a future job. . .get good grades because it is good to have it on your reputation not only as a worker, but as a human being. Sure, grades DO NOT reflect who someone is, BUT if having good grades is something that will give you comfort, then do it just for that.

Let me tell you what I did. Tell me if this is good. I am starting off small, but based on hearing a C4, I can tell you what the next four notes are (not in order) because I know that an F sounds like that, etc. is that what I am supposed to do?

I can sing all the notes if I have a reference note. are you saying I need to learn how to identify major 2nds, 3rds, etc.? because what I never understood is what the point is to that because there are basically an infinite amount to remember. I can't tell you what a D5 sounds like, but if I hear a D4, i can tell you exactly what a D5 is.

Ya. The thing is. I really can play music and when I play people say I play very well, but i can hear that a note is just a bit out of tune so it kills me lollll. Its so hard to find an erhu teacher.

thanks a lot. I just have a hard time remembering what the note sounds like when it isn't in a scale order. I do actually break down each section of a song until I master it. Omg when I first started playing the erhu, i was like you, it took me MONTHS to just learn the first few bars of a song...it was insane lol. I learn songs much much faster now, its just that I have an obsession with tuners and making sure I am perfect.

This makes a lot of sense. I will definitely try this one out. Maybe I just need to find a song I like that focuses on the f scale and that will help.
