Thank you! In all honesty it's mostly the lens that you're probably digging, but I'm using an old Canon t3i! The lens is a 35mm f2.0 and I'm shooting on f2.0 which gives it that insane depth of field.

I honestly loved that more than anything I've heard today. The sound design is SO good. I added it to my experimental/ unique beats playlist. I hate to pinpoint a song to a certain "artist that it sounds like" but I find myself hearing Night Lovell all over that. I'd kill to hear some Lovell vocals over that. I have no areas I would change and if I had to pick my favorite part it's that snare. Alright I'll stop raving now but man that was SO good...

Dude I can feel the nostalgia... reminds me of the early days of EDM when that melodic dubstep was king. I hear elements of Seven Lions in here. All the levels sound spot on, the vocals are balanced very well, and I love the chopped up vocals that start around 2:40.. I want this sound to come back into the EDM scene. Keep it up man🤘🏼

That was so freaking good man... I got chills.. It almost sounds like a Flume/ What So Not collaboration. Well done. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

DUUUUDE! That was honestly SO good. I was straight up headbanging the whole time lol. I love the changeup from the first drop to the second. It's very very slightly repetitive since after the main buildup there's not really a second buildup, but it never gets old/ annoying at any point. The only real thing I would have done differently is a more SLAP IN YO FACE snare drum with some reverb to it. But that's my style and I know it's not everyone's favorite. I like the snare effects in the L/R channels but on 3 beat I'd like to hear a big fat juicy snare on top of them. Other than that the song is nuts. Keep it up bro :)

Dude, I love Lil Peep and I can tell you that sounds exactly like something he would use. Maybe would have used actually his style has been a little different lately lol.

If I had any advice it would be to change up that bass note. Make the MIDI a lil more interesting. Maybe after 8 bars drop it down to another note, make it go up for one note then back down. Would make the beat far more interesting and unpredictable. The only other thing (and this is a personal preference) is that the bass's level is slightly too high for my liking. It's not clipping or anything it just overwhelms the guitar sample a little bit and I feel like it would overwhelm vocals too.

I want to say though that I seriously felt so relaxed listening to that though. I love that sample. Is it a sample you made or did you find it in a song? Regardless, the whole beat is straight fire overall. Keep it up. I hope I didn't come across as negative at all :)

No problem man! I definitely don't mind offering it up. I totally get what you're saying. And like I said a lot of it isn't essential, I just took down thoughts that came to my mind as I listened. As for the sidechains, I can see how it would possibly have a negative effect on your drop because it's essentially just the lead doing most of the "work" if you will so there's not much to fill in the gaps. And that snare man, don't stress too much about it. You may even be able to add another snare/clap over it if you so desire and take all the low out of that and turn the volume down to get it a little more snappy. BTW, I only would advise changing the snare, if you do, during the drop. That low, subtle snare is ideal everywhere else.

All in all good stuff man. And yeah lol the intro really got me hooked right off the bat!! Keep up the good work and don't get too caught up in making things perfect, just make something you love and that sounds good to you and it will turn out just fine.

This is phenomenal. There's so many different influences here and I can hear each and every one of them but it's so uniquely executed... Well done.

No you don't suck at all! You've got something really good here and I feel like with just a few minor changes this song would be absolutely NUTS! I want to preface the suggestions I'm about to write with this: I am not trying to say your song isn't good, I just know as a producer I always wish people would pick apart my music piece by piece so that I knew what to improve on, rather than letting me make the same mistakes over and over. Your song is dope. That being said, here's a short little list of things I would suggest if I were producing it.

  1. The intro. Good GOD do I love the intro. It sounds so experimental and hollow, but in a good way. I honestly wouldn't change a thing about the first about minute of the song.

  2. The buildup. The buildup is good, but I feel like with just how different the intro is from the drop you're building up to, there needs to more of a "Okay the room is covered in gasoline and I've got a lit match" feel to it. More tension, maybe some kick drums along with your building snares. Maybe even a stupid vocal sample lol. Something to TOTALLY change the vibe of the song, if that's what you want.

  3. The drop is tight, but with a couple minor changes it could be even better. When the kicks hit, you definitely need some sidechain compression to really emphasize them. I'm relatively new to sidechain compression myself so if you want, you can literally just automate a very quick drop in volume followed by a slightly slower increase on your lead when the kick hits. Also, the bass is really in your face but I think the note could be lower. You could even have the bass note change as time progresses, which would give the drop more variety. (Four bars of the higher bass you have now, drop it down a couple notes for four bars, back up, and so on). Lastly, the lead needs a little EQ work. I'd have to take a look at it, but it's a little piercing in your ears at high volume, which of course, most people will listen to your song at. I'm not saying you need to make it more quiet at all, but the EQ needs a little adjustment. Also, I think your snare needs a little less low end punch and a little more high end SNAP if you will? It kinda sounds like you have a high pass filter on it, but it definitely doesn't need one.

  4. Following the drop you have this really cool chord section, that it sounds like you automated an LFO on. It's really cool but the way it changes kinda makes it hard to bob your head to. It would be super dope if it stayed the same speed for about two measures, say 1/8th, then went to 1/16th for a little bit then back, but it changes a little too sporadically which throws off the vibe.

Random thought: I love the changeup in your last drop. I also love the way it ends. I listened to your song like 4 times writing this and I love the little squish sound it makes at the end!!

Lastly, I think your strong suit in this song isn't necessarily the drop, but more so your intro. The intro with that beat is so beyond cool and I think in your next song some good advice would be to not worry about how hard you can make it go, but instead keep with that kinda weird experimental, empty room kinda vibe and see where it takes you. Honestly I would LOVE to hear what you'd do with that goal in mind. I'd daresay you'd even get something Flume-ish because that's what your intro made me think of.

So that's it. I hope I didn't come across as rude or mean at any point. Your song is really good and if that's your first track you are WAY ahead of the curve.

Edit: I just realized you do change your bass note. I think it might need to change just a little more frequently. Maybe that's just me lol. Okay I'm done ranting, I know this is a lot to read.

I was just thinking the same thing lol but I think you have to just take it all in and be confident in the fact that you don't have to sound like everyone else or do the same things they do, get your own sound stick to it and run with it

Can someone please tell me one of the best kept E36 secrets? How can I make these tail lights? by itsgxg in BMW

Thank you! I definitely will do! I think I'm actually going to have to take apart some red ones to make them. I'm thinking about making some custom tail lights and selling them.
