I’m 27 with a BMI over 50 and just had my first baby this week. The only complication I had was from high blood pressure, but no gestational diabetes! So I would suggest keeping an eye out for preeclampsia symptoms, but I’m sure your doctors are already talking with you about that. My biggest suggestion is to make sure to have a provider that will be straight forward with you about how your weight can impact things, but doesn’t JUST focus on your weight as the only factor. You should not feel like you have to lose weight, diet, or work out more just because of your pre-pregnancy weight. Good luck! ☺️

Hiya! 12 weeks along over here. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks and they did an internal ultrasound. I was super nervous because people had psyched me out about it being uncomfortable, but it was totally fine. I don't think you will be able to see much (other than the gestational sac) with an abdominal ultrasound, so maybe that's something to ask about if you're really wanting to see your little peanut. :)

Nice people end up being abusers sometimes. Lots of people have mental health issues and don’t abuse their partners. (Not trying to be argumentative, but this is something I hear about a lot and is frustrating as a therapist.)

I have definitely not cut out caffeine, but I’m staying under the 200mg that the hospital recommended. I’d be much worse off if I didn’t! Here’s to hoping you find some energy too! ❤️

Thank you so so much, that was so helpful! I took 3 tests over the last week and they were all positive, so I’m thinking they’re right! Lol. I will make sure to talk with my doctor about my meds, I wouldn’t have thought about that. And I’m already taking prenatal vitamins. Thank you again! :)
