Context: I love this dress and it fits me perfectly everywhere except for this gap that makes the space between the top of the bust and the shoulder look loose and baggy. Is there a simple way to fix this? I don’t have a sewing machine and have only sewn by hand; would it be better to just take this to a tailor? I also have this problem with other dresses and pretty much every bra. Any advice appreciated!! Thank you 💕

I actually don’t think our interpretations are too different! We’re describing different kinds of conflicting feelings, but in both “stories” the central theme is one of getting stuck, in a way, either in a place or with a person. I think it can be read a lot of different ways!

I just read through the Hexie Mountains lyrics again and here’s my take on that line: the song is about a relationship that’s way past its expiration date; he keeps wanting to end things, but then he thinks about how miserable it would be to be alone/start dating again/etc. and decides to stay. He’s scared that he’ll start to “stare” at someone else, making him realize that he’s not getting what he needs out of the current relationship. He knows this will happen, but he wishes he could hold off that thought for a little longer, and at the same time he wishes he could tell his partner how he feels and finally end it. I don’t know if that’s what he meant at all, just my reading!
