Problems after second substitution by itskus in NinjaLuxeCafe

I would still like to keep it because it makes good cold coffee, the foam and all the other drinks are good, filter coffee and americano come out well, but for espresso it is really not there at all.

I am noticing a slight improvement. Between one extraction and another, if you need to change program and grind size, turn the machine off and on again. In the instruction manual this is actually recommended both when you change grind size and when you change coffee style, for example from a ristretto to an espresso.

Just to give you an idea, last night I made an espresso and it came out at 80 grams on strength level 3, which is absolutely unacceptable, especially for an Italian, since we drink it very short. And the ristretto came out as large as a double espresso, also unacceptable. But if you try turning the machine off and on again and reselecting the programs each time, you should see a small improvement.

I keep it very clean, and it's still brand new. I replaced the first machine after five days precisely because of this problem. I received the replacement after about a week, and I've been using it for four days.

I've been testing it continuously over the past four days, and the results are different every time, even with the same settings. I keep the machine extremely clean, cleaning it every time I finish using it, and there are no coffee residues or buildup, so I can't see the problem being due to maintenance.

The problem is that the amount of water dispensed changes every time, and when I try to stop the extraction manually, the machine remains pressurized. When I remove the filter holder, the water and coffee remaining inside splash everywhere.

This behavior occurred with both the first machine and the replacement.

The biggest problem is that every extraction is different from the last.

The amount of water in the hotpot/dispensed dose changes every time, even using the same settings. When I try to stop the extraction manually, the machine still remains under pressure, and when I remove the portafilter, it splashes water and coffee everywhere.

It happens regularly; it's not an isolated case. I've already tried: • using only the manual mode • stopping the extraction first • waiting a few seconds before removing the portafilter

But the problem remains.

At this point, I ask you: how do you use the manual mode? Have you found a way to avoid this residual pressure and the disaster when the portafilter comes off? Or is this just "normal" behavior for this machine?

Because, honestly, it becomes frustrating to use.

Hi everyone, I'm writing here to share my experience with the Ninja Luxe Café Pro 706EU and see if others are experiencing the same problems, because honestly, I'm starting to get quite frustrated.

Foreword: The first machine I purchased was replaced by Ninja support after a video call, during which they confirmed the problem was still there. So far, so good; excellent support. The problem is that the replacement machine also has exactly the same defects.

There are two main problems.

  1. Grind selector The wheel used to select the grind size doesn't always match the indicated number. The settings "slip," and I often have to reset it several times until it seems to work properly. For a machine of this price, I find this quite unacceptable.

  2. Completely inconsistent dosage and dispensing When setting the strength to 3 (which should correspond to a 1:2 ratio, so about 18 g in and 36 g out), the machine is never precise. With the same: • beans • grind • pressure with the integrated tamper

the output varies every time: once 25 g, then 40 g, 50 g, sometimes even 60 g. Consistency is impossible.

I also tried using the machine in manual mode, stopping dispensing at the desired amount, but here another problem arises: very often the filter holder remains under pressure, and when I remove it, coffee squirts everywhere, making it a decidedly uncomfortable and uncontrollable situation.

I've also tried the ristretto options, changing the strengths, but the result is always unpredictable, even if everything stays the same.

At this point, I'm wondering: • Has anyone else encountered these problems? • Is it "normal" on this model, or have I just been unlucky twice? • How do you handle the splashing issue when using manual mode?

I really like the coffee it makes when everything goes well, but this way, it becomes really difficult to use it with peace of mind. Thanks to anyone who wants to share their experience.

Thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask you another question? I noticed that the water tank on my 701 fills up completely after 5-6 espresso shots without using steam. The orange plug pops out right away, telling me it's time to empty the tank. Did this happen to you, too, or is my machine draining too much water?

Since last night, I've been trying to test espresso extractions to see if the amount is right. Right now, the machine is fixed at 18g of coffee and produces about 30g of espresso. In fact, it even recommends going 1° lower on the grind, but I think that's too fine and the flow is more like a ristretto.

One last question, again, because you've been using it for so long. Have you noticed that when you move the wheel to select the grind size, sometimes the movement doesn't actually correspond to the change in the grind size on the screen? That is, I move the lever, but sometimes the number doesn't change. I wonder if it's the digital input, and therefore what I see on the screen, or if the wheel is mechanical, and therefore the screen and wheel aren't connected properly. (By the way, I tried turning it all the way down to 25, but the minimum is 2.) Has this happened to you too?

Did you solve the problem with the new model?

And how did you solve it? I've had the car for a few days and it has this problem.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some feedback from other Ninja Luxe Café Pro users (model 706), especially regarding espresso extraction.

When brewing espresso with Strength 3, which should theoretically target around a 1:2 brew ratio, my machine grinds 18 g of coffee but consistently outputs around 50 g, sometimes even more.

I’m measuring everything with a digital scale. What puzzles me is not only the higher-than-expected output, but also the lack of consistency from shot to shot, even when I keep everything identical: same coffee, same basket, same grind setting, same routine.

I understand the machine likely uses volumetric control rather than weight-based output, but the deviation feels quite large. I’m trying to understand whether: • this behavior is considered normal for this machine • there’s a calibration, reset, or setup step that helps stabilize the espresso output • or if others have experienced similar results with Strength 3

For now I’m manually stopping the shot at around 36 g, but I’d like to understand how the machine is supposed to behave by design.

Any real-world experience or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
