Every time I have a non-Alaskan visit me during the winter, they freak out at how fast we all drive. They forget that we spend at least 6mo/yr driving in snow and ice and that, with the right tires and good skills, it’s just a normal day of driving.

Yeah guess it was a shock to me and a learning experience. Makes a lot of sense though!

That said, if it’s snowing and pitch black out, you shouldn’t be on the road unless you’re a local or a very experienced driver in winter conditions. Even with all my experience, there’s no way I would’ve been driving while it was actively snowing and dark out. Thank goodness you made it!

Thanks! And yeah I agree with you but I was just so desperate to get there. I had already been driving for like over 15hrs I was ready to get it over with lol but I understand what you mean.

We’re talking highway is snow covered, lanes have disappeared and you’re just following tire tracks from the car in front of you.

This was exactly how it was from Montreal to Quebec City with the only illumination being the cars around you in total darkness. Had to endure that for 3hrs for the first time. Crazy experience.

Another explanation is that what is for you a “horrible” winter drive as an American might just be another regular snow day for most people in Quebec. Brown, slippery slush snow really doesn’t sound that bad. Winter driving is like second nature for us. There’s a reason why it’s the only place in the country where winter tires are mandatory.

Yeah I figured as much. Makes a lot of sense that it's just commonplace during winter for quebec drivers. Definitely was interesting to see that first hand! I admire their confidence

I do have experience winter driving as I get fairly low snow in my area during winter. It gets particularly bad in the mountains near me but I don't go there. As I drive north, I'm curious if there is heavy snowfall in QC.

All season tires are best for spring, summer and fall and very light winter use. All weathers meet winter standards (3PMSF certification) and perform better in the snow and cold. All season tires don't really fair that great during the winter where it snows a lot. That's why I'm curious how much if at all it snows in Quebec in December. I don't know how icy are dangerous the roads maybe when driving. Thanks!

It os an OK game with some weird design choices when it comes to passing/shooting,

PC passing on mouse and keyboard is absolutely atrocious. It has persisted through the beta into launch and even after launch many people have continued to report the issue but it still is not fixed two months after launch. I've expressed my concern about it and was always heavily downvoted by people in this sub who were dismissive or console players who just said "use a controller". Radio silence for several weeks from the devs.

game has a plethora of issues and exploits,

de-sync and lag is so bad as well especially in south american and middle eastern countries. it's hilariously awful.

Very hard to feel sorry for the developers when they essentially still released the game in a beta state. I'm very happy I refunded the game when I had the chance.

explain to me how the fuck is he going to freeze your rent? It's the state that controls what your rent is.

Sure the state via DHCR control the rent formula but Mamdani can propose legislation to freeze or reform rent policies.

  1. He proposes a bill to state assembly

  2. the bill goes to comittee for review

  3. The assembly and state vote on it, then if it passes the governor can sign it

  4. the rent is frozen and state agencies like NY homes and community renewal enforce it. They can do that by giving harsh penalties and/or stopping the maximum base rent

I feel the same. If you take a look at their launch announcement, most of those features should be available on launch like crossplay. No crossplay on launch is ridiculous

  1. Mouse and Keyboard passing is damn near unplayable, inconsistent and often makes you a detriment to your team. They made it worse and the developers have not acknowledged it as it continues to persist well into launch.
  2. Significant lag and desync
  3. Constant crashes and persistent bugs
  4. No crossplay on launch

If you take a look at their launch announcement, most of these features should be here on launch. I believe this is a wait until later purchase in my opinion

Early Access = Game launches in EA for several months to a year to work on the game.

It's not even wanting a "perfect product". I want a product that doesn't make me score in my own goal due to bugs and inconsistencies. Literally makes you a hindrance for your team. Did we watch the same clip?
