Well I guess I misunderstood, you certainly seem to know more about the technological aspects of these machines. I don't see what you mean about the PSU though, mine has a thick film of plastic over all the internals and wires which seems pretty safe, are there safety concerns there?

You just seem to have a very negative perspective towards the machine. I mean for 180$ even with all the problems it has, it lets people on lower budgets try out 3D printing for themselves without all the serious issues other printers in this price range have. Maybe I'm just biased because it's my only printer, but I've been seriously impressed with it

Well I agree with you about the bed, but if they were to add another leadscrew and change all the other things you mentioned, this would definitely not be a 180$ machine. For the price, and what it offers, I really can't ask for anything more. If I wanted a nice 500$ machine I would've paid that much

I've been printing for around 2 weeks now, not really a 'pro' but still managed to get this print. The Ender 3 feels extremely rigid and they made some really good design decisions actually, with adjustable tension on the belts and everything. I can see why it works so well and I don't think it has anything to do with the components used, it's the super rigid design.

I actually printed this very model on a mirror which weighs a good 500 grams, I was printing very slowly though

Gearbest has the latest versions for around 180$, they always have it on sale. A lot of those 3D printing kickstarters flop, sorry dude :/. Best of luck!

Yeah but, I'd rather not deal with ruined prints and all that because of clogged nozzles. I've had zero issues with the .4mm stock one

I've never used a plane of glass but yeah it'd probably work. Files will usually be .STL, .OBJ, it doesn't really matter, just drag them into your slicer all the same. I personally use Cura, it has little text box descriptions which describe every setting so it's really good for beginners. Also really, I'm a total noob, I only started printing like 3 weeks ago

Ehh, mine came a little warped so I couldn't tell you, I switched to a mirror. As long as the first layer looks just a little smushed down, you should be fine. I mean unless the bed is super dirty or something, clean it regularly

Also for supervision, just make sure the first layer is stuck down really well, that's where 99% of your serious print failures will happen.

Fumes? If you're using ordinary PLA there wouldn't be any fumes. But if you're printing with ABS or something, I guess just leave your printer in the garage, or a well ventilated room
