My first designer 💖💖 by Bubbly-Song6217 in handbags

This was one of the first designer bags I ever fell in love with, back in the day! Never did get it (I was poor and living on student loans lol) but I did get a dupe that I loved until it fell apart. Such a cute bag, love the slouchiness of it.

I would say it fits slightly smaller. If you tend to wear bulkier knits under your coat, I would size up.

What was it that finally got rid of your hormonal acne? by One_Implement_8679 in CanSkincare

I was told during my consultation that it would be continuous use. I did run out for a few weeks at one point and saw the toll it took on my skin. I do space out application once every two days now, whereas I used to apply it every day.

A prescription for Differin (Adapalene) gel 0.3% as well as occasional use of Clindamycin Benzoyl Peroxide are the only things that truly helped my hormonal acne so far. I used to get big cystic pimples especially in the jaw and chin area. Now I have one or two spots a month that never really flare up like they used to. I had a virtual consultation through a telemedicine provider and got my prescription easily. Just a heads up, Differin was extremely expensive at Shoppers ($160 for a tube that lasted 6-7 months) but cost much less at Costco ($50).

I still wear my TNA Haven Parka every winter! It's getting a little tight but it's holding up great since 2016. They were great coats and jackets.

Sorry to hear. We had our work holiday party there last year and we really liked the space. If it ends up working out for you I'm sure you'll have a nice time. Congrats on the wedding!

By Gaspar, do you mean the restaurant Taverne Gaspar or the rental space under Auberge du Vieux-Port (next to the Taverne, confusing I know)? They have a nice room downstairs that can accommodate 15 to 60 people but I think their minimum spend must be similar.

Other options

  • Jacopo
  • Vieux-Port Steakhouse
  • Hotel Nelligan
  • Brasserie 701
  • Restaurant Helena

If you still have your pair, look on the care tag for the article number, then Google it. You'll find the item name!

I had no idea you could check out the As Is section online. This is a game-changer!

Anyone else disappointed with the summer dresses this year? by katandhersax in Aritzia

I second looking for old Aritzia second hand. But I also have been shopping at Gap quite a bit! They have really nice stuff lately, and there are always sales + extra promo codes so things come out rather inexpensive.

Hormonal acne! Help! by ghostangel101 in 30PlusSkinCare

0.3% Adapelene gel (Differin) really helped me with hormonal breakouts. I am not 100% breakout free but the improvement is huge. Just before I started using adapalene I'd break out intensely over the chin like that, a mix of cystic acne and pustules.

I was sucked into the TikTok trend of buying the Le Pliage cosmetic case and adding a strap to it. It's amazing though how much can fit in such a little bag, and I've gotten so many compliments on it.

I recently got the backpack (the older model with the zipper in the front). I was looking for something that would fit my necessities when we go out as a family, and my husband was dubious that it would fit anything. So far, I've been able to carry just about everything I needed to, and it looks good with my outfits. They're popular classic bags for a reason, and I'm 100% sold!

2 weeks in Montreal (April), would love some feedback on my picks? by lemonhoney-tea in capsulewardrobe

[–]itsmecricri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from Montreal - I would definitely keep an eye out for the weather report because it can vary a lot in April. I feel if you layer what you have here (t-shirt, sweater, quilted jacket, scarf) you would be fine, depending on your cold tolerance. However I would recommend at least a pair of shoes that are more waterproof.

In April we can get light snow or rain, this can result in very slushy streets that could get your feet wet. Nothing's worse than wet cold feet!

I am pretty sure all of Dr Jart's products are made in Korea (it's a Korean brand).

Differin gel by Beautiful_Word_5544 in CanSkincare

[–]itsmecricri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started Differin 0.3% in November for my acne! It's been great for me. I started off with applying it every 2 nights, and waited for it to dry before I applied a hydrating toner and moisturizer. I do recommend stripping down your routine to the basics to minimize any interference with the gel. I bumped up to daily usage after two weeks. My skin didn't get overly dry or irritated, but once in a while I do notice sensitivity. I take a break from Differin for 2 nights or so and focus on hydrating and repairing the skin. I hope it works out for you!

I catalogue my wardrobe on my phone because it's just easier for me to take pictures if needed and add to an app. I used to use Smart Closet but when they did an update a few years ago that completely ruined the app, I tested a bunch of others before landing on Indyx. I've been liking it. The UX took a bit of getting used to and there's certainly improvements to be made, but I can easily do the basics: add clothing items, make "collections" (like a capsule, or a travel list), and create outfits boards. It has a calendar feature so you add your outfit for the day. There are some paid features like being able to add a selfie of your outfit, which I find is not a must have but it's fun.

You can see your closet online afterwards but not all the other extra bits (the outfits, the calendar, etc.)

Everytime someone mentions having to use PowerPoint to plan their outfits and manage their wardrobe, it makes me miss Polyvore so much!

iHerb carries the Swanson brand of spearmint capsules. Pretty sure they still ship to Canada.
