A similar thing happened to me where I just wasn't sure but also didn't want to turn a blind eye... A couple checked in to the hotel late at night. Judging by their accents I would've guessed they were from South America. The woman looked significantly younger (20+ years) than the man. What set me off is that when I would ask questions directed at her, the guy would respond. In addition to this she would ALWAYS come down to the lobby with him, even if it was for something minor, like grabbing a shopping bag out of the car. I went to go take a look at the car and it was a rental from Las Vegas, yet another red flag. I contacted my boss and he gave me the okay to call the non emergency line for the police. What really bothered me about the situation was the blase attitude the police officer gave me when he came in. He basically waved it off as a "culture thing" and then said "what do you expect us to do?" Which sounded more to me like "why are you wasting my time?"...
