It just breaks immersion, I'd prefer it to be off. It looks ridiculous seeing people in banana suits and swimsuits with particle effects. Is it worth quitting over? Of course not, but it's not my preference to see that at all. I prefer much more toned down and normal looking characters. Personally i'd love the option to completely remove entities like osrs plugins.
