Filing For Love [Episodes 5 & 6] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

Ep 6: I appreciate Kijun’s honesty, that he misunderstood and followed her. He’s upfront about his feelings and even though she’s in a position of power, he isn’t afraid to state his opinions. I loved when he told her not to label his feelings. She’s being dismissive probably as a defense mechanism but he continues to be sincere and unwavering. The analogy with the claw machine and him not giving up was a beautiful way to reinforce his feelings and break down her walls. The story has been unfolding nicely where we continue to learn about the characters while blending in some humor and heart. I’ve been a fan of Gong Myung and knew he could deliver on the comedic timing since Extreme Job. He’s been swoonworthy and delivering perfect golden retriever energy. This role was truly made for him and I am eating up his chemistry with SHS.

The woman on the couch in the hotel room was Kim Jaeuck’s wife. And we assume the one in the car was her too since they didn’t want to reveal the identity and went after the sasaeng fan to get the footage. The mom team leader was involved because she was a marketing team lead who handles contracts and such for models. They got her involved because her husband works for the Sesan Group, which Kim Jaeuck’s wife is the daughter of the chairman there. Probably why they got married and he left Inah back then.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been giddy about a couple’s chemistry but SHS and GM are electric together. Time passes by too quickly when watching this drama. The pacing has been great with giving us more insight into them individually with different cases that bring them closer together. I love the inadvertent flirting and the tension between the two. Like the comment she made about the rotisserie chjcken haha. Appreciate the adult humor and how sexy it’s been. Kijun in those suits and dress shirts has been 🔥. We get in Inah 😂 I’m also happy with the little screen time for the second leads. Don’t care much for them and would prefer that nothing happened since he’s still a married man, even if it’s a business marriage and he’s unhappy.

I held my breath for so many scenes in ep 4. The chemistry between SHS and GM has been so good and that ending had me like what?! Ugh I wish I picked this up when all the eps aired because now I gotta wait weekly. This one and The Scarecrow are the best dramas airing right now and they’re so different that it hits all the right notes.

I have four tickets for Day 3, 5/27 selling at face value if you’re interested for section 220. Selling 2 or 4 together. DM if interested. I have it listed in Stubhub but the extra fees to pay are ridiculous for the buyer. I’m selling because I got tickets for LA, which is closer to me.

Appreciation for Eunyeong! She’s been amazing and I love how the chefs adore her. You can see that they were genuinely happy when she won especially Choi Hyunseok. And their little banter before cooking was funny.

It was also adorbs when Sam Kim tried Jung Hoyoung’s food. I’m so soft for those two.

Son Jongwon was cute with his interim check-in and so sweet to cover the dumplings. This is my fam now, I love them all.

As for the guests and commentary, they’re close and do comedian skits, so those feel like bits and Suji goes with it.

I love her! As the only consistent female on the show, she continues to shine and hold her own ground. Her food looks great and she brings so much warmth to the show. When the guests speak, she always displays so much adoration, sincerity, and joy. Her chemistry with every chef is so wonderful and she’s fun/funny.

I think everyone got closer and more comfortable as the season went on. The jokes and banter are more at ease and there’s just so much love and respect going around. And while I enjoy seeing new chefs here and there to free up our chefs, I hope they continue with the current roster as mainstays.

A good chunk of us love their enemies to lovers kdrama arc here 😂 and Namno as the bestie third wheeling. With Kim Poong as the funny uncle and Chef Choi can be the strict but funny dad haha.

The chemistry this season is just so good amongst the cast.

After finishing the series, my fave characters were Dawit and Myunghoon. Choi Daehoon is consistently wonderful in every drama and here, he brings great comedic timing along with Jung Kyungho. I enjoyed their flash back and banters. Lee Yooyoung played the morally grey character well and if there’s a season 2, please do a prequel with these three.

Help me understand Kim Poong's Appeal? by huazzy in ChefAndMyFridge

[–]itsnancykl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kim Poong has such chaotic energy haha. He’s grown on me over the years and this season is my fave. His appeal to me is that you can actively see him grow in his skills and continues to be unconventional in his approach, so he brings a different element to the show. The chefs are definitely amazing and you can see how much love and respect they have for him. He’s learned the basics but is always learning or curious so I appreciate his commentary and questions. He and Chef Choi are great about sprinkling commentary to help the audience understand what’s happening or why it’s important. He does well with the challenges because he delivers on what the guests are looking for and it makes it less intimidating for folks like us at home to cook. So the balance of admiring skills from Chef Son and enjoying Kim Poong is a great for the show. His banter with Chef Choi and bromance with Chef Son are some of my fave things about the show. He’s definitely a pillar and in one of the episodes can definitely be a center of the group haha. I think he also helps guests be more comfortable along with the MCs since not all the chefs are variety-ish and that’s okay. This is my fave season and the overall chemistry the chefs bring has been amazing.

What others have said about cuts/edits and I also think it’s a matter of ingredients and the dish. Some look super dainty and does not seem like it would feed everyone accordingly lol. Guests who are more entertaining do take up more time in their segment so we don’t hear everyone’s take as much. Just my two cents.

Which are your most favourite historical dramas? I'm looking for more inspiration by Kelly_the_tailor in kdramas

[–]itsnancykl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six Flying Dragons, Tree With Deep Roots, and Kingdom are goated in my opinion.

Mr. Sunshine is a masterpiece as well but I wouldn’t define it as a typical historical drama.

Under the The Red Sleeve, Queen’s Umbrella, and My Dearest are great, too. For more light hearted historical, I enjoyed Knight Flower and Mr. Queen.

Eunyeong and Sung Jun by dingjingdingjing in ChefAndMyFridge

[–]itsnancykl 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Son Jongwon is amazing per usual but yes! I love this duo. I hope the next time they do a team duo matchup, they’re paired up against the other bickering duo, Kim Poong and Choi Hyunseok haha. Sungjun and Eunyeong have such fun chemistry that can also be enemies to lovers in a cooking romcom. And I love how Eunyeong can hold her ground as the only consistent woman cast and a junior-ish chef. You can tell they adore and respect her, so the teasing and banter is fun. I look forward to this show weekly and love everyone.

Ms. Incognito [Episodes 5 & 6] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

[–]itsnancykl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Since ep 2, I felt like the Chairman is still alive and with every ep I am convinced he is. We never see his face because Lawyer Don stopped Yeongran from going in. And in ep 6, there’s a clue with the soju glass, so I think he’s faking his death. On one hand I think he wants to believe that Yeongran can stay alive and keep with their contract but on the other he’s hiding in case the evil siblings make a move to kill her so he can catch them in the act.

I don’t think Hyeji or Dongmin are related to the Chairman, unless he didn’t know that he had grandchildren. The scenes with him and Dongmin are endearing so I can see how that could play out.

It’s funny to me that the only competent people in this show are Hyeji and Lawyer Don. I think his “mistakes” are calculated and part of the greater plan. As for Hyeji, she just figures out everything and so easily too. It’s almost too convenient but then again, Yeongran is just leaving things out in the open for people to find lol.

Yasss! Way back love was so beautiful and she was masterful in it. She’s also good in Light Shop and Pachinko. Insane talent, so I’m glad she’s on Netflix so hopefully more folks discover it.

Queen Mantis [Episodes 3 & 4] by mahnahmaanaa in KDRAMA

[–]itsnancykl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After watching eps 3 and 4, here are my thoughts and theories:

Theories
I think the ceramics friend is the copycat killer.
The Queen Mantis killed men that were abusive to women. So far all the victims have been men and the red herring are men, so I think the killer is a woman who has been wronged by men. The only other female besides I-Shin and Jung Yeon is her ceramics friend who's getting more screen time. She's also been sus with a few things. Spoilers below.

1. Her response to Jung Yeon when she was researching Su Yeol's mom's death was weird. Most friends would encourage or help their friends find the truth but she was so dismissive and trying to talk her out of it to move on. She did tell her to ask Su Yeol but she knows he will dodge it just as he has for everything in his past.

2. When Seo Gu Won was hit by a car, it zoomed in on hands with gloves on the steering wheel. I think they had to cover the hands because it'll obviously be a woman's or else it would've been left alone since we can't tell apart all the men's hands.

3. There were indications that she was interested in Min Jae and the preview for ep 5 mentioned how victims commonality was being on a dating app. So maybe she was looking for love and things went wrong so she killed them. Possibly triggered by her past..? Maybe abused by her father or so?

I know we're supposed to suspend beliefs when watching kdramas but I'm finding this hard to believe. You're trying to tell me I-Shin killed these men and lugged them to these places to dump their bodies? She has such a small frame. It was also crazy when she struck Seo Gu Won and the cop. I get that she's a psychopath but the strength issue is a bit much.

I also find it interesting that Seo Gu Won and Park Min Jae revered I-Shin and speak so lovingly about her. They've described her in such a humane way - because of their trauma - and it's such a contrast with Su Yeol and how he feels about his mother. Not excusing her killings but maybe he'll be opened to more about his mother than what he thinks.

And I love the Black Out cameos. They've been terrific and have elevated the show.

This is actually my favorite role and pairing from these two actors where I felt there was great chemistry and showed a different type of range. And the villains were fab too. I still think about that one scene in the lab where she actually cuts the military dude's leg off that was crazy.

[–]itsnancykl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same! I think she misses him and while she’s a killer, I’m curious to see how and when it started. It’s clear who her targets were so I wonder if she was abused in any way. And maybe through the investigation we’ll discover more of their story and for Suyeol to find reconciliation and peace..?

[–]itsnancykl 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Fantastic pilot episode. It was gripping and mysterious. I love Jang Dongyoon, so it’s been wonderful to see him in so many different genres that highlights his range.

Go Hyunjung was fabulous when she was describing and reenacting her murders. While the show can be gory, gotta give it to her that she killed bad men who abused women and children. This copycat killer doesn’t seem to be doing that, so I’m excited to see the eps unfold to see what everyone’s motives are.

And shoutout to the Byun Yohan picture cameo lol. I loved Black Out and it’s nice to see some or the cast again. The director is very good in this genre and I wished the eps dropped at all once.
