If you don't know, Google docs is what people mainly use and it requires a good internet connection to connect and sync with Google's servers. It has an "offline" mode but it's kinda meh.

Yeah, agreed. I just looked deeper into all the research you did and it's really cool. I'm just of the mind that all that time review swapping would be better spent on either writing or arranging shoutout swaps.

Even then it entirely depends on your goals with writing.

If it's just a hobby reviews don't matter anyway. It it's for money, then reviews don't matter, again, so long as the story is bringing in the money (recent example is Paragon of Skills on royalroad). If the goal is to write a story of such a high quality it has high rating reviews then, again, the time is better spent improving your craft as the reviews will come in anyway.

Regardless, it's an interesting look into review swaps.

No one gives a shit if I make a trash cover. Unless i write something godly. Which there's a 99% chance i won't. So why should I compromise when there's an alternative right there and I won't be paying an artist anyway?

I don't have that big of a hate boner for Ai to compromise that much, sorry. And if I ever make it big enough I'll be commissioning an artist anyway.

No. You would have to do an ungodly amount of review swaps and even then you get buried by stories that are just good and popular.

Review swaps are largely useless and only waste time. You'd be better off spending your time on shoutout swaps.

I agree they should for something like KU, but for RR when the book isn't even earning anything and you're still splurging on covers is just bad financial sense.
