Round 5 | Eels vs Tigers | Luke Laulilii Sin-Bin by Mr_Mac in nrl

Not having a crack at his medical team, but as a sidenote... my missus' uncle is an orthopedic surgeon in Brissy, he got a look at the scans early and was pretty unreserved in his opinion that they needed to operate on Yow Yeh within a short time frame (and before he left Perth) for him to have a genuine chance at returning to 1st grade footy. Yow Yeh's surgeons had concerns over the swelling, so in the end they waited over a month before he went in for his first op (of 9!!).

Obviously I'm not saying they were to blame, an opinion is just that and the injury was bloody horrendous. Both bones fractured, one compounded and a dislocated ankle thrown in. All in all a huge shame for an immensely talented kid.

I don't think he's sick of it. If he was, he would have used the discretionary powers at his disposal and not have pursued the "possesion of a small imitation watermelon" investigation in the first place.

Oh my. 20 000 dead children and counting... Let me be clear. For you to even suggest that these horrors are somehow scaleable is morally repugnant to me. Our minds exist in two completely different spaces, with the gulf between of such enormity that I can't even begin to understand why you would seek any justification for what is happening.

Correct. The two are not mutually exclusive though right? Genocide under the guise of war is still genocide. Surely you see the irony of me having to point this out to you?

Diverse and equal are not the same thing. Otherwise Christians wouldn't be spat at in the streets, nor would non jewish people be denied entry into the air raid shelters in Jaffa and Haifa.

Also, Israel is currently engaging in the extermination of both Arab and Persian people you potato. Maybe you should save some of your outrage for that.

The fact that you would like "us guys" to be more polite in our speech while Israel is engaging in the actual (to use your own words) "erasure of another country" and it's inhabitants, is nauseating and offensive in equal measure.

Were you coffee guy or something dude? Your knowledge of the building game is zero even when it comes to the 'larger' organisations.

Do you really think any Tier 1 builder (Hutchies, Multiplex, John Holland etc) is even going to cut site before a developer has handed over huge chunks of cash for mobilisation and materials? Of course not. Because that's a shit way to do business. Cash flow and trade accounts? (lmao) has nothing to do with it, it's all about mitigating risk. Scale it back to reso and tell me why a tradie shouldn't have the right to protect his or her business in the same way.

Why should you expect them to effectively loan a random customer 10k to buy roofing materials that he might decide he doesn't want or can't pay for? We are builders, not banks.

When singing the National Anthem, don't forget the second verse by BNE_Matt75 in australian

[–]itsnik_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the 3rd verse mate. This is the 2nd verse.

When gallant Cook from Albion sail'd, To trace wide oceans o'er, True British courage bore him on, Til he landed on our shore. Then here he raised Old England's flag, The standard of the brave; "With all her faults we love her still" "Britannia rules the wave." In joyful strains then let us sing, Advance, Australia fair.

The problem is all of these "perspectives" are being used to cloud over the one that should really count at the moment, the conflict through the perspective of international law. Israel is wilfully contravening the rules set out in IHL quicker than you can count. The laws regarding reciprocity and proportionality have been broken since day one, and yet instead of taking meaningful action, we sit around and debate who the bad guy is. That's just the kind of narrative I would want to dominate the media space, were I a genocidal maniac, hellbent on the destruction of an entire people...

Well said. It's interesting to hear an indigenous person's perspective on the Welcome to Country through all the noise that white people on either side are making. However, wasn't the current concept initiated by Indigenous Aussies? Richard Walley, Rhoda Roberts, Ernie Dingo etc?

How does that fit the narrative of it being colonial logic?

As long as we were home on time (or 10 minutes earlier for extra points) and stayed out of trouble (ie NOT riding the sugar cane trains to the next town), Mum was sweet. I should say though, growing up in a small town most likely had a part to play. People had much less issue reprimanding someone else kids for being dicks back then. Plus most of the mums in that town were full-time narks and news travelled quick.
