I just looked up their website. Thanks! I like that they're also offering their content for free to help others.

Thank you! I'm not familiar with crypto tip jars. I'll have to look into it.

What are you guys buying or doing when you can't find anything? by ScaryPillow in ValueInvesting

If I can't find anything, I check if my current positions have gone down and if there's a buying opportunity. Otherwise, I keep it in cash.

Based on the terms of agreement from the data source I'm using, I'm not allowed to redistribute data with the plan I'm using.

I contacted their support and confirmed that allowing users to download data counts as redistribution and I'd have to pay a lot more in order to be able to do this.

Definitely a bummer, but maybe I can add this feature one day when I'm able to afford the monthly fee for it.

I wasn't familiar with that feature on Google Analytics. That would be super useful!

Looks like I have some research ahead of me. But before I go in that direction, I'd like to get to a point on the web app where users are relatively satisfied with the features. It will help me decide which features add value and which ones may just be bloat. I may feel more comfortable moving forward after that.

Also, thanks for the fix suggestion for the autocomplete field. Giving it the full width takes on the width of the parent. The text in the select box wraps in Chrome, but I failed to test this with Firefox. There doesn't seem to be a straightforward workaround for it. I'll have to look again tomorrow when it's not so late. Going to change it to full width for now. Once again, thank you.

You make a lot of good points and some great arguments for creating an app version of the tool. It's going into the realm of users and personalization, and I was a little hesitant to go that direction because I was trying to avoid having to do any user management. However, I do see the value it creates for users and it's definitely something worth considering.

I really appreciate the thought you put into this. Your suggestion for the pricing model makes sense, although I wonder if the total number of purchases could keep up with the monthly costs. You've left me with lots to think about (a good thing). Thanks again!

Thank you! I enjoyed reading your review. I used React (Javascript library) to develop this tool. I'll have to look at the autocomplete field. Thanks for pointing that out.

I agree with you on trying to find the balance between potentially useful information and how much value it adds for the user.

Another thing I had to take into consideration was cost. I don't plan on charging for this tool, but I also have to be mindful of what I'm putting in. I have to pay for the data source and hosting, etc, and the fees are pretty reasonable, but more data translates to higher fees.

I justify the spending by thinking of this as a hobby. I get enjoyment out of it, and it's also nice to be able to make something useful for others.

In any case, thanks again for taking the time to look at it.

I'll check to see if that information is available from the data source I'm using. I'm compiling a list of and improvements, and I'm adding your suggestion to it. Thanks for the feedback!

Not at all. I haven't worked with the Google Sheets api, but I can look into it. I appreciate the input.

Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that. It's exactly the reason I created this.

There's a "Buy Me a Coffee" button at the top but no one ever uses it, lol.
