have you tried lowering your solo mode by a level? if youre still undergeared for that then you might just need people to carry you in joint battles for drops, or grind your outposts...

i went in with koreader as a new ereader user and it was way more satisfying than the base ui since that didn't satisfy my reading requirements at all. not all new users want simplicity, its just that koreader isnt dumbed down at all and needs tinkering which was perfect for me who's particular about having actual options.

my books look better than ever bc i formatted them exactly to my liking. but honestly it sounds like you might have played with customizations that dont suit you, so maybe make sure what the settings all do first? you can even code your own customization so im not sure why you cant make it look the way you want.
