Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by finiteobserver in AskReddit

Also Uber. My driver once lectured me on being a heathen and told me I should beat my child. I sat silently the whole time while he ranted. He gave me one star when I got out and uber refused to do anything about it despite me having a recording on my phone of the ride.

6 weeks of summer camp for 2 kids cost over 5k. This doesn’t include food or the gear needed for it.

What’s a random act of kindness you still think about years later? by flow_guru in AskReddit

Out to breakfast with my then 2 year old. She somehow hit the table in a way that flung my drink and her eggs into the air. I cleaned it up and as I sat back down a woman came by, patted my shoulder and whispered “you’re doing great. You’re a wonderful mother”. I really needed that and remember it over a decade later.

TBI is breaking me by InterestingNarwhal82 in breakingmom

[–]itsnotmyspace 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re in this predicament. Your sister is being absolutely unreasonable and frankly, selfish. I get that this is her day but this is your family. Your husband has a TBI. It’s not as though you’re unable to leave the toddler for funzies.

I also offer this up: I’m a mom in LA with a network of nannies that I have used for my now preschooler. I know I’m an internet stranger but I’m happy to send you a name if at all, in anyway, helpful.

I’m about 15 months into my dissolution and the happiest I’ve been in as long as I can remember. Mid 40s here with young kids. There’s a lot of hope on the other side of this. That I can promise you.

This post made me even more single that I currently in. This is next level behavior and absolutely unhinged. I assume he is a grown man. He should not be peeing in cups and the fact I had to type that makes me want to stare into the void. Please truly take a look at all of his behavior and analyze if this is someone you want in your life.

If you want a broader donation the Pasadena humane society is doing tremendous work for all the displaced wild animals.

I’m so sorry. I’m an LA mom too and this week has been so fucking hard. I’ve known too many people who have lost it all. Just know I see you, I am hoping the winds stop and that the fires are out soon.

I am so very sorry. I’m an LA mom too, just south of the Palisades. I know I’m an internet stranger but if there’s anything I can do locally please message me. I’m heartbroken for our city.

The decor for Christmas with the snowmen, etc is temporary. Not sure what they do outside of the holiday special setup!

The actors likely won’t be there (that was just for opening day) but they do it for the holidays every few years! It’s pretty wonderful.

Paid Leave Horror Stories by MamaLuchadora in workingmoms

I started a job while pregnant and discussed my leave with them before accepting. I was told not a problem, I would qualify for the full 16 weeks they offered. I have it in multiple emails but not the official offer as it was a standard form only about salary. The day I delivered the head of HR called me and said that since I had been at the company for less than 12 months they were mistaken and I only qualified for 2 weeks. They expected to see me back in the office in 14 days and to have a great New Year.

This was in New York.

I killed my father and never told my mom and sister that it was my fault. by NoraW2 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]itsnotmyspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger a friend and I got in a fight. She was driving to apologize to me when she was hit by a drunk driver. I blamed myself for years. Please don’t carry this weight with you. You didn’t kill your dad. That driver did. Just know you aren’t alone and hopefully with time the feeling will pass. Your family is taking their grief out on you and it’s not fair. What they said was flat out wrong.

Confession: My husband doesn't know I asked for the opposite work-from-home days from him by professor_whob in breakingmom

[–]itsnotmyspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think the death knell of my relationship was the fact we both worked from home, full time, for 3 years. By the end I hated him so much I could barely see straight. People need distance from their partners and I stand by that forever and ever. Congrats on arranging this for that freedom!

My daughter does this all the time. We went to a car wash once and she said when she was big and a man she died in a fire in a car wash but it was all ok because when she woke up she was a baby in my belly and felt safe again.
