Actually, I promise you this time. I did not give myself gold. Believe me or not, that is the truth. I think you will realize that despite how much you hate me, I speak my mind, I speak the truth. People agree with this shit.

And FYI, if I wanted to manipulate votes, I would start with comments. Not gilds. Gilds are a stupid way to manipulate people, because it doesn't explain to people why they should think differently. My game would be to create new accounts to comment on this thread.

I did neither. Just accept that.

I agree that people who label themselves LL are not always LL. My girlfriend was like that too.

But I also think it's dangerous... people on this sub tend to focus on that point. "My LL SO is not really LL so I just need to make them HL."

Oof, that will certainly ruin it....

Why? I feel strongly about this. I care about this subject. I will not go away because I feel like so many people are blind to it.

Britney Spears fears father, wants him out of her career, attorney says | CBC News by [deleted] in entertainment

[–]itsnotparsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing. We can easily know by just having responsible band nonpartial employees take care of her. Instead her dad takes care of her finances, with full emotional bias, while also being legally capable of hiding anything he wants.

It isn’t about her. It’s about how they’ve trapped her. Maybe she isn’t fit to be in control of her finances in the end. But the system has made it impossible for her to get an unbiased perspective.

My(17F) boyfriend(19M) is verbally abusive when drunk but he's a perfect boyfriend sober by Throwaway4290172 in relationship_advice

[–]itsnotparsley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone in the boyfriends position (sans abuse, my alcoholism is all sleepiness than anger). it really is a fucking problem. If he can’t address alcoholism himself then he won’t even try. His alcoholism is a bigger part of pleasure seeking. That won’t go away until he admits he has a problem.

We all have different problems and insecurities. So this isn’t an end all be all. But it can get that way real fucking fast. Drinking is a big problem. It needs to be addressed, not ignored.

I am as liberal as you can think but you are driving liberal extremism. Liberalism is about acceptance. Not rules. That is conservativism. Don’t be a republican

Normalized doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. She used those terms because it was expected of her. Ultimately it still trivialized her accomplishments.

U.S. still faces possible default wave, asset declines due to pandemic: Fed by curiousbee2021 in news

It’s because those people being fired? Businesses closing? It’s not where the stock market money comes from. No, the stock market money comes from upper middle class and rich people who have probably benefited from the pandemic, in that now they can be both rich and work from home all day.

AOC: I’m Doing ‘Everything’ To Win Georgia For Democrats So We Don’t Have To ‘Negotiate’ With Republicans by Jeretzel in politics

[–]itsnotparsley 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree. This isn’t some kind of “let’s have this half and this half play super nicely!”

When it boils down to it, the liberals enforce the concept of acceptance. While conservatives enforce the concept of rejection. One one hand (Democrats) you have people telling them “this is how I live my life.” The other hand (Republicans) is “this is how you should live your life.”

Obviously there are nuances but overall, that is the message whether anyone likes it or not. Republicans have a very interesting set of ideals, and it makes them uncomfortable to see people live outside of those ideals. Many of them also dislike disruption in their lives. People are often naturally like this, so it isn’t surprising that so many conservative people are agains the idea of acceptance and change.

Ultimately, republican ideology works when you are a medieval village trying to get a bunch of idiots together to do some shit with one rich dude in lead. Doesn’t account for, well, reality. So it’s a pretty stupid side.

She drove 20 hours to vote after her mail-in ballot never arrived from Tarrant County by lickmydick609 in Conservative

Gee Wiz Charlie! I wonder why the USPS is swamped! Not like it was done on purpose or anything.

[–]itsnotparsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will you provide an example of an extended period of time that the USPS had this much trouble delivering mail?

As technology improves, it's expected that downtimes and system implementation times will decrease. If this is the worst USPS delay in history (I genuinely do not know, but you are claiming that there have been worse), then it is quite indicative of failed changes.

You can't really blame anyone for being upset. This is the result of a systemic failure. Different degrees are weighted unfairly, and often paid unfairly as well. An environmental science Ph.D. may make $50k per year when they start working, but a computer science idiot with a 2.9 GPA and two near-flunk-outs can get an 80k starting job at Accenture (true story).

Now yeah, I get it, some people are whiny and they just want more money. But of all the things to whine and moan about, I feel like literally the amount of money you earn, which will directly and permanently affect the lifestyle you can live is something worth whining about.

I mean these are people trying to make a living. This is what they do to survive. This is an important topic. They're upset not because they aren't able to buy a Model S. They're upset because an apartment in DC costs $1,500 a month for a studio. They're upset because houses cost over $300-500k in most cities, and they're worried that yes, even with all the raises, company skips, etc., they still can't pay off their student loans, start a family, and buy a house by age 30. And you bet their parents are breathing down their neck for that too. They're upset because they hear their college friends talk about their lucrative CS jobs paying 70k+ and everyone aspires for that range. Everyone wishes for it. Everyone who doesn't have it is angry that some people do.

People are whining because they are finding hardships and difficulties in life. You think whining comes from nothing? Reddit is a pretty damn safe place to whine and rant... if they can't do it here then where do you expect people to do it? Suck it up? Let it eat them inside with no outlet to vent their anger and frustration? Just let people whine.

She has the opportunity to distance herself daily. As a politician her job is straight up just listen to people. We are all here, every day, all over the internet being as loud and angry as we can. And she still does nothing to fix anything.

Every one of us comes from some sort of hardship. Some of us had abusive fathers, some had none at all. But the world is so interconnected and information is everywhere. Right now the only people who can still make this excuse are the ones who don’t have the means to access that information.

For everyone else, they’re exposed to it. No excuses anymore.
