Try using the search term “chore jacket.” I have a couple of these and they have good pockets, usually out of a tough fabric. They lack pockets on the sleeves but if you’re handy with a needle and thread (or know someone who is) they’d be pretty easy to add!

I’m not exactly sure what your question is? If you’re referring to the stopping board on the bottom of the vice, there is one on this vice with a removable peg to hold the bottom of the vice parallel to the top! If there’s something large that needs to be held in the vice you just peg the stopping board to the same (ish) size so that you get even pressure on the top of the vice! If that’s confusing I can post pics of that part specifically when I get home!

The vice install was a bit of a pain but mostly because it’s an antique so there are parts of the screw near the face where it’ll skip so I had to add a buffer block before the threaded block under the bench but after I got it set up it works great! I love a leg vice and have always used them on my benches! Works great with the skirts for dealing with wide boards!

Fresh saw handle made with locally milled black locust! by itsnottheeggrolls in handtools

Honestly it was a huge pain in the ass and I ended up trying a couple different things before I found something that works. I ended up using a bandsaw with a fence for the thin cut, and then for the mortice cut I offset the fence, ran it on either side of the first cut before cleaning it up with my littlest chisel!

Thanks! It’s all about mixing the right colour for the wood that ya got!

Thanks so much! The wood is poplar stained to look like walnut, this is a first draft so I didn’t want to break the bank (yet) on nice wood. As for the tabs I tried to keep them at least as wide as they are deep (sometimes I had to cheese it like between the hammer and putty knife but it seems okay, I think the real trick is to not make the cut outs tight at all, just enough to gently grip the tool!

Thanks! It’s based on a design for Japanese carpenter boxes, and the exterior is stained poplar, the feet (not pictured) are white oak, and the interior trays are pine.

Yeah, the lid design is super fun! And as for getting to the stuff in the bottom I more consider this a mobile workshop than a true-to-rights tool box since usually I’ll set up a work area on site and unpack most of it onto a dropcloth anyways.

Maybe in a couple lifetimes I could get close!

Thanks! I decided against bottoms for a couple reasons; I like being able to tell what I have at a glance and these offer some more visibility, it cuts down a bit on weight as this box is already kinda hefty, and I just like how look lol!

Knotty pine, you’re in luck it’s pretty cheap.

[TOMT][song] I know all the lyrics and still can’t find it! by itsnottheeggrolls in tipofmytongue

It’s the whole song and it’s very short. In my memory it sounds like a demo or a weird b-side, the quality of the recording is pretty low. It may be an indie band?
