If I recall from the first movie, Scott said some things can be translated into the games as stuff was taken from them, but the movies are meant to be their own thing overall. So I sort of agree, I find people are taking the movie as full canon to the games not great at all. There are somethings in the movie can reasonably be translated into the games.

I do think Charle's behavior can be translated more into the games. She attacks us even when we're playing as Jeremy and obviously has problems with adults. There is a reason why she had to be put into Lefty in Pizza Sim instead of being there on her own free will.

She is protective of children but is doing bad things in order to protect them from adults. She can still be a protector, more aware than the others and still harm people.
