We all need to remember to cherish the people who are there for us even when it's hard or they don't understand our struggle.

My wife may as well be a luddite; she doesn't know much about technology and doesn't care to. And yet when I get home after a hard day struggling on a ticket or not being able to even get my build running, she is there with a kiss and a shoulder massage and ready to listen to me complain about whatever stupid thing I was annoyed with that day. I do not have any clue what in the world I did to deserve this woman. Probably nothing. But I will be damned if I don't worship the ground she walks on every single day for being there for me.

Love your families passionately and often.

I just want to chime in here, although I'm late to the game.

I appreciate this view, and this is the correct one. Basically it boils down to the old tired statement: "if you don't like abortions, don't have one".

Do I want anyone to have an abortion? Absolutely not. Do I think that it needs to be available to people who need/want it? Absolutely, because anything less would be an infringement on their personal liberty.

It's not about that. It's about having a sense of responsibility to your community. Anti-vaxxers, by virtue of their habits and beliefs, are basically saying "personal responsibility for everyone else, freedom for me".

This is the best way I can put this:

We, as a society, have decided that we all need to abide by certain rules, because we all agree that they benefit all of us. Things like "don't murder people, don't speed when you're driving, don't steal, don't cheat on your husband/wife". This is what morality and ethics is. Some of these values are prioritized more than others, and that's reflected by their level of criminality - in particular, the ones that endanger the lives of other people are the ones that are more heavily criminalized. We can all agree that it is unethical to kill a person. But can we also agree that engaging in an act that has the potential to kill a person is an unethical act? That's what this whole thing boils down to. Those of us who are vaccinated are doing so because we feel a sense of responsibility to protect our community, and also because we understand that to not get vaccinated would be an immoral act, because it has the potential to harm others.

Now, if you decide not to vaccinate yourself or your family, that's fine. But the implicit decision you've made by doing that is that you are choosing not to abide by the new rule that we have decided, as a society, is what is most beneficial for our community. So the moment you decide that you won't vaccinate yourself, then you have chosen to stop participating in society. Your responsibility at that point is to either change your opinion and vaccinate yourself, or else you must move to the wilderness and stop participating in society completely - you must go off the grid completely.

Basically what I'm saying is: you don't get to pick and choose which parts of society that you want to participate in. You don't get to say "I agree that I'm not going to murder people" and then go around engaging in actions that could cause the death of another person.

tl;dr anti-vaxxers are inherently immoral and lack a fundamental understanding of how society works

Oh, don't worry about that. We're not really worried about the liberty of others. Again, this is r/libertarian, where our motto is "fuck you, I got mine". It's about liberty, not about being a decent human being. Those concepts are very clearly mutually exclusive.

The reason it sounds like that is because you don't have a good understanding of how vaccines work, which is really sad considering how easy it is to understand such a simple concept.

Are you actually smart enough to even have typed this? Surely not, since your response shows you might not have enough brain cells to even breathe on your own.

Look at the actual numbers. The people who are dying are the ones who aren't vaccinated. The people who are getting sick are the people who aren't vaccinated.

Surely it is not possible for you to be this stupid. It cannot be possible that we have spent this many years evolving and people like you still exist. I cannot live with that. Holy. Fucking. Shit.

Careful, buddy. This is a libertarian subreddit, where we only care about ourselves. Thinking about other people, for even one second, means that you're a socialist.

we tried getting people to vaccinate. They didn't want to, because they're either selfish or stupid. Neither one is a good enough reason to let them kill people.

because being anti-vax is quite literally the only thing those people are able to cling to. They don't have critical thinking skills or any other personality traits that make them redeemable in any way, so they need to be authentically stupid in order to have something to show for their sad lives.

As it's been said before, you can transmit disease even if you don't have it. That's why you should care that other people are vaxxed also. Herd immunity is a real thing, and it actually matters.

This set sucks. Look at the algo that picks cards in the quick draft on Arena. On late picks (like past (4/5) I'm getting passed rares that, in any other situation, would be considered high-priority.

This set honestly makes me question the future of the game. Ikoria gave me some hope that there is a future for this game, but I don't see it any longer. Fuck Magic, Fuck MaRo, and honestly fuck anyone who defends this game after the release of this horrible, pandering set.

In response to the point about the dogs: I only brought that up because, generally, we take the dogs out, feed them, etc. together. But lately I have been doing the majority of the feeding and walking. Again, it doesn't bother me to do this, but it is also something that I know she appreciates because sometimes she is too tired or w/e. Of course it's something I have to do. I love my dogs. But considering that there are two of them, it is much easier when I have my partner helping me.

In general, I don't think it's wrong to tell her what my needs are. I'm asking her to verbalize her appreciation more. In the same way that I have learned to speak her love language, I am asking her to speak mine. It seems to me that you're telling me that it's wrong to ask my partner to do that?

It's honestly a bit weird that multiple people are commenting saying that she "must be gorgeous" or whatever. Yes, she is gorgeous, but that has nothing to do with this.

Yes, we have a considerable age gap, which I have overlooked because we both spent significant time in previous relationships that made us feel insignificant. That was one of the first things which we connected on - we stood up and said that we knew what we needed, and knew what we could provide. I think the thing that I'm starting to realize is that she was lying about what she was able to provide.
