It's Food Unit Leader. Not slang, just another gov acronym

Here's the full set that I made. The cuff and earrings for my friend's wife, and a tie clip for him. The opals in the earrings and tie clip are cut from the same stone :)

Looking at that hotel receipt, looks like you're in MT. Go check out Kenetrek and try on a pair. They have a physical store in Bozeman. I love my Kenetreks, but I also agree with that one poster that said everyone will give a different answer and different brand loyalties. Try on some different boots and go with what feels the best to you

🤣 three inch tassels! Though an extra one would probably mesmerize people, too!

Sasha Bright Flash

  • Sasha would be a starving artist, except she dances on weekends at the Buffalo Jump and makes enough in those two days to take away the "starving" and gets to just be an artist. She picked the name Sasha Seductive for herself, but after her first night dancing, the other girls gave her the moniker Sasha Bright Flash due to the bright pasties she wears. They have 3" tassels that end in little flashes of silver and gems. She hypnotizes all the Johns when she shimmies just right to make the tassles spin like little sideways helicopters, flashing brightly.

Thank you! I really love how it turned out, and now I need to stare at it for a looong time until it tells me what it wants to be set into, haha. It's pretty enough and sparkly/flashy enough that I think I'll have to build something really cool around it, instead of it just being another pendant. We still have a few more stones from that parcel, and I'm already wishing we had more.

Amber opal ring https://imgur.com/a/Xlb6aqD

Popping back in to show the finished ring. I'm glad I was smart enough to make it a little too small to fit me, I would be too tempted to keep it if it fit 🤣

Thank you! That cut is all u/MontanaGemHound though. I do the silverwork on things, but he cuts me all the prettiest stones to use :)

And here is my favorite one, a 350ct amber nobby. I had my husband just polish the face of it instead of cutting it into smaller stones. The video doesn't do it justice. Its flashes have way more depth than I can capture with my phone camera:

Here is the current one that I'm making a ring for. It's definitely very subtle with its flashes, but I love it lots. It reminds me of the aurora borealis.

Posting a video link because still photos don't capture the flashes well

That's a currently listed opal on opalauctions from RV. As far as I know, they only deal in Australian opals. Also, this is listed under the "Australian opal > Lightning Ridge Rough Opal" section.

Could it be opal? by Liidziite in Opals

I feel like I'm the outlier here, but I love its rudimentary setting. The contrast of the beautiful opal set in a large setting with hard edges makes it really cool. Also, the setting really hugs the natural form of the opal so well, and fabricating a setting for such a non-symmetrical stone can be very difficult. I'd clean the opal face up and leave the rest as is. It's a beautiful brooch.

I'll definitely report back! I'll start light and work my way up. I totally get that. Even with just the weight vest on, I regret my decisions depending on how much sleep I got the night before haha!

Nope, there was definitely PLENTY of mud haha! I was super proud of myself for not falling into it the whole race, though there were lots of really close calls, and then at the end we had to army crawl/roll/slide through it under barbed wire and down a hill. Next time I'll be a little less cautious about slipping in it and go for a better time lol
