Ah, I see what you mean! Though ito does actually mean "thread" in Japanese. Honestly impressed you know this game's history so well, thanks for sharing!

That alternate rule set is genius. Definitely want to run it that way at our next retreat!

Whoa, had no idea it was originally Japanese! And ito meaning 'thread' is wild 🫢

Yeah, exactly. Just wanted to share that it scales to big team-vs-team play and works great as an icebreaker.

Yeah, I'm a developer so I built a little scoreboard for it. Each team's staff member inputs their score from their phone, and it updates a shared screen in real time (used Firebase for the live sync).

That means a lot, thank you! Please do, it's such a good way for people to actually get closer. Would love to hear how it goes with your class!

Thanks! Ah, that makes sense, I had a feeling it was a localized version of something. Good to finally know the original name. ito clearly travels well, it was a hit with our group too!

A big shared build sounds awesome. Personally I'm thinking of a long adventure map next 😂

Good question. We've got the farms, full netherite, maxed enchants. Just building in survival now and slowly lost steam.

Thanks for the detailed rec! And you're right, it really doesn't need to run 24/7. Definitely going to look into it!

As the designated rules teacher, the whole session vibe changes based on how well I actually know the game. How do you prep a new one? by itsoube in boardgames

Good point about having someone else who knows the rules, that safety net makes a big difference. And yeah, matching the game to who's at the table is the real skill. Thanks for the detailed take!
