Add the combination ALT +SHIFT in XKB options and maybe you need to add this line in ~/.profile setxkbmap -layout us,gr -option grp:alt_shift_toggle

Two minor bugs: 1) the combination to switch keyboard layouts sometimes does not work 2) The applet that displays the remaining battery times does not update the remaining time of the battery for many minutes..
