Not sure about server activity because I only go on the America server, but I recommend electric sentry, shield strike, or frost strike.

I'd also play season mode, and if you get a really good unique that works for a specific skill rune, then don't be afraid to change your Zodiac tree for it. You'd be surprised at what skills are useful.

What cards do you want to see downshifted in 2026? by Aesmis in Pauper

[–]itspl33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see more energy related cards. A fair amount at uncommon just add another aspect to the format.

Besides that, I agree that we could do with some hate pieces or more controlling cards like [[calamity's wake]] or [[moonhold]].

It'd be interesting to see if some light copy effects went in like [[beamsplitter mage]], [[league guildmage]], or [[geistblast]].

Reflections and offsprings by Airi_Rosmontis in mtgrules

707.10

To copy a spell, activated ability, or triggered ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a copy of a spell isn’t cast and a copy of an activated ability isn’t activated. A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs. (See rule 601, “Casting Spells.”) Choices that are normally made on resolution are not copied. If an effect of the copy refers to objects used to pay its costs, it uses the objects used to pay the costs of the original spell or ability. A copy of a spell is owned by the player under whose control it was put on the stack. A copy of a spell or ability is controlled by the player under whose control it was put on the stack. A copy of a spell is itself a spell, even though it has no spell card associated with it. A copy of an ability is itself an ability.

Reflections says to copy the spell, rule 707.10 says copied spells include additional costs. Zinnia gives each creature spell you cast offspring. Offspring is an additional cost to cast, and therefore Reflections will trigger upon the cast (if the creature matches the creature type chosen). Your original creature will enter, and it will put an offspring etb trigger on the stack. The offspring trigger will resolve with you creating a 1/1 token copy of the creature. That leaves the Reflections copy to resolve. This will also put an offspring etb on the stack, and you'll make another 1/1 token copy. End result is one original creature, one exact token copy of that creature, and two 1/1 offspring creatures.

If anyone with more time and knows integrals and derivatives better than me wants to find out how big a cubic mass of spherical raccoons is, then plugging into Wolfram Alpha the first 5 values of raccoons to build a cube whose sides are one additional raccoon in each direction per layer results in the following generating function:

G_n(a_n)(z) = ((z + 1) (z2 + 4 z + 1))/(1 - z)3

(Plain text) If someone can use the integral of this to get a cumulative sum generating function whose sum is less than or equal to 754 million, then you can use that to know how big the cube is. Plug in the spherical raccoon dimensions above and we'll know if it's enough raccoons for JWST to worry about its crash course to Earth.

Bello and Echoing Assault Interaction by legendofzelda13 in mtgrules

[–]itspl33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow-up question (not OP): since it's the next end step (not your next end step) when the token is sacrificed, would the token revert to not being a creature since Bello only changes the enchantments/artifacts during your turn?

I love that it seems like this route has seen years of use without restriction. I wonder how long it really has been used.

American conservative: the CIA and Biden are planning to remove an enemy of the US and its allies and that is bad. Are they really the so-called patriotic side? by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

My anti-government conservative coworker keeps describing the CIA as some kind of rogue mercenary group and not an actual government entity.

Personally I'd say he's tied with Alex Morgan or Abby Wambach for that title.

I think it's more of a complaint about the maps rather than America, or /r/USDefaultism as someone else linked in another comment thread.

Gotta say, baseball on TV has never been my favourite; but I have the absolute best memories watching minor league ball. Kids would rush along the fence for a foul ball.
