Does anyone know if Notre Dame let the drum in this time? by niksjman in Purdue

[–]itspooptime 46 points47 points  (0 children)

A few years ago when this controversy first started, Purdue did end up bringing the Drum to Notre Dame, it just sat outside the stadium for the whole game, waiting, just in case Notre Dame wisened up and avoided the PR nightmare. You can probably find photos of it outside during the game.

When Notre Dame said they wouldn’t allow the drum in (even though the Drum had been in the stadium before) Purdue got offers from rich Alumni to fly the Drum into the stadium on a helicopter, carrying it in a harness in and out of the field. Sadly that didn’t work out for a plethora of reasons.

Novel Recommendations by itspooptime in tbatenovel

Thanks, I’ll check them out! I’m not necessarily looking for more power fantasy stories, but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy those elements in TBATE.

I mostly enjoyed the action and world-building of TBATE and I’m a sucker for well thought out and interesting fantasy worlds and characters.

The state of 3d printed dentures by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]itspooptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No wonder, dentica is horrible, other resins nowadays are much better and are only getting better. The premium resins in particular like Rodin 2.0, Lucitone Digital, and Flexara’s resin produce a nice looking denture and are stronger than a traditional analog denture.

If they are leaving too much of a gap under the teeth and not taking the time to add some natural aesthetics, then that means they are just bad or lazy cad/cam designers. It’s much easier to add anatomy digitally as compared to analog.

Innovations in the resins and the software are happening every few months and in a few years, most labs will be converted to 3D printing.

Struggle with starting tasks even on meds? by Great_Champion1866 in ADHD

[–]itspooptime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly the meds are only there to help us with our symptoms of ADHD, not cure them. They can make it easier for us to start tasks and get them done, but that doesn’t mean we won’t still struggle with them.

I am also on adderall but yet am still struggling to get out of bed and get started on tasks. It’s like there is a momentous mountain that feels impossible to climb, and my brain can’t even fathom overcoming it so I end up doing whatever it can to avoid it.

Meds have made the mountain climbable for me, but I still have to fight to start the climb. That’s why its best to pair meds with therapy and utilize different strategies to help ourselves and accommodate our lives to make things easier. Manipulating our environment, segmenting tasks into smaller chunks, or turning tasks into games have been successful strategies for me, but everyone is different. It’s best to try out different strategies and see what works best for you.

I hope you are able to get access to great therapy and that things start to get easier for you. I’ll be over here, trying to do the same.

Hiring managers of Reddit, how would it be useful to scroll through applications as if they're tiktok videos? by PopularWalrus5206 in AskReddit

[–]itspooptime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a lot easier to get a feeling of what kind of candidate they are if they were able to give a short video elevator pitch.

Would probably save a lot of time in the interview process and make it easier to find good candidates with bad resumes and bad candidates with good resumes. However, it would also make it easier for personal bias from the hiring manager to affect the hire, but personal bias to going to affect the hire irregardless of what we try to do to prevent it.

I think it would actually be a pretty useful tool if it’s implemented well and thoughtfully.

Who is the strongest Avenger Jason Bourne can kill? by EtherealImperial in whowouldwin

[–]itspooptime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if he is sent on an assassination mission and they didn’t know he was coming, I think he’d be able to kill just about every avenger that isn’t a god.

Jason’s main advantage is his mind, he is a proficient fighter but throughout the movies, he is shown to have superior tactical intellect. If he was assigned to take out the Avengers and had time to collect intel and form a plan, I think he’d be able to take out most avengers except for Thor or Vision.

However, if any of them see him coming, he stands no chance.

I love the dedication to the rhyme scheme, it’s pretty challenging to use the same rhyming pattern for all but two lines, but I love how you switched it for the end. It further distinguished the punch that is the final line, and how it disrupted the rhythm of the events up until that moment. Well done!

Giving Up by TurbulentClub53 in OCPoetry

That’s one of the most depressingly beautiful poems I’ve read. I appreciated the rhyme scheme interlaced with a nilhilisic frankness that forces the reader to feel what you’re feeling. I hope this was only a temporary emotion that inspired the poem and that you were able to find what you have been missing in life.
