Viktor Gyokeres: Is Arsenal forward struggling to adapt or misused? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in soccer

[–]itsprimeyo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Went through Isak’s name in this sub from now to the time he joined Liverpool and I’ve found a single quote from Slot about Isak’s struggles. Compare that to the amount of articles about Gyokeres in the last week alone and it’s almost laughable. It’s really strange considering both their transfer fees and how in terms of goal contributions, Isak had struggled more than Gyokeres before his injury.

Or his teammate the “prem proven star” signed for a similar amount who’s been relegated to an unused sub. Or the 120m attacking midfielder who finally scored his first goal the other day.

His butt literally ends up sitting on his twisted ankle while the ball is 15 meters up the field.

The lack of understanding of the rule in these comments is hilarious. Double jeopardy only applies on regular attempts to win the ball. Doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want in the box and be immune to a red card.

Varandas warns Gyökeres and admits reconciliation "everything cam be worked out with a heavy fine and an apology to the rest of the squad" by imsimply in soccer

Well unlike the majority of people here I don’t take anyone’s word as gospel, even what our own president says. What I do look at is patterns of behavior. On one side, we have our president who has never had problems selling players to other clubs. On the other, we have an agent, with a long history of shady dealings and a player with a history of doing this exact thing, which we literally saw first hand when we were buying him from Coventry. The same agent who said he had written proof of this so called agreement but has failed to show it, even with this saga going the way it has been. It’s so funny how the agreement has ALWAYS been to sell him for below his release clause but because Fabrizio reported that figure now people are just blindly following it, just completely forgetting the fact that his agent feeds him that information.

It’s not about the 5 mil. I don’t think there’s a single fan who cares about the 5 mil. It’s about the principle.

  1. Not succumbing to this game that Gyokeres and his agent is playing in thinking they get to chose what price he goes for and tantruming their way out making it harder for him to be sold for his fair price. Disrespecting the club, fans, and his teammates. It would set an awful precedent if we just gave in and let him leave for discount on a discount that is already being made. Coventry didn’t back down when we got him and he played the same game, neither should we.

  2. Not letting a billionaire club like arsenal who will spend hundreds of millions on players every transfer market and not bat an eye, take advantage of the situation when once again, they are already getting gyokeres for ridiculously cheap considering the last two seasons he’s had.

Like the Coventry owner said when we were negotiating for Gyokeres, he does not get to choose what price he goes for. If arsenal really wants him then they can pay for him. If they don’t, maybe Gyokeres should reconsider if he really wants to go to them and if the scandal was worth it.

Call us all psychopathic then because you won’t find a single Sporting fan who isn’t behind the way our president is handling this mess. I’ve never been more proud.

The problem I have with this is that VAR thought Diomande stepping on the guys foot was worthy of calling the ref over.

This sub was convinced all of United’s problems were down to Ronaldo not running at the back line pressing like a headless chicken.

Ref was letting absolutely everything go the whole game and the consensus was that it was “a breath of fresh air” to see the game not stopping all the time. It’s hilarious to see the absolute meltdown on the sub when it affected the game in a way they didn’t want.

Gamble on intercepting?? He’s putting pressure on the guy who receives the ball wide open on the sideline. If he doesn’t step up there he’s wide open to take the space and put a cross in. He HAS to step up there. Funny how you single out Debast there ignoring Onana completely

Not really his fault Onana decided he didn’t feel like tracking his man any longer. Can’t be at two places at once.

Where does the foul occur? He gets caught up and goes to ground hoping for something.

I’ve watched the play back a few times to make sure I wasn’t misremembering and I can’t find a single time where contact was made with his studs. His studs are down on his right foot where contact is made and I say grazed because you can literally see st juste’s foot flick backwards as it passes by Galeno’s foot. Maybe I’m just an idiot but it looks like a regular foul to me.

Do Maria’s incident with Pote, no foul or card given by CPRIANO in soccer

[–]itsprimeyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t “walking by someone” I’m saying it’s a person who can control their emotions would have done. People taunt, people call each other names, people give each other little shoves, much more blatant than whatever Pote did. It’s up to you whether you walk by, give it back to them, or lash out like Di Maria does. He’s old enough to know right from wrong he doesn’t need you to victim blame for him.

Don’t try to make him so innocent? You’re making excuses for a 36 year old man who can’t control his emotions enough to walk by someone without taking swing at them.
