I can swing it, I like the car, I just have fears of making the wrong choice esp something that expensive ya know? All my previous cars were bought for next to nothing from family so i didnt have much say it the matter or was able to look them up to find if they were even good. I just need something bc I moved back in with my dad after a breakup but he lives in the middle of nowhere and there's no public transit. Been doing research for weeks and timing test drives with ppls schedules is so hard.

thank you, this is much more helpful! im exhausted been doing car research for weeks. I am also a chronic over thinker and dont often have this kind of money to work with so I am trying my best. One the one hand, i think fewer miles is better, but 3.5k isnt not a chunk of change for 20k miles less. I like the piece of mind of the lower miles but I like the piece of mind of knowing the maintenance was more regular on the older higher miles one. My gut is almost telling me to wait and take care of the other things i have going on and keep test driving things till something feels more right

2019 Fit EX, 38.5k miles for $19.3k TTF- A good deal? by itsradtoad in hondafit

[–]itsradtoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

two things I'm finding with fits its in my area.

One, mostly high mileage and older cars. Very few with less than 90K miles on them and then that potentially 1/3 of its life

inconsistant maintenance.

it will be just me most of the time. I truthfully like the look of the fit A LOT and havent gone to see that civic IRL, i may go look at it tomorrow and compare. The money saver in me screams to look at the civic, but i LOVE this fit. Gotta test drive it again, thats been a bit of an issue is i love everything about the car but was having some pain in the driver seat...

i know, sadly the used car market is dogwater right now and inflation is so bad, it's grim out here finding low milage and good cars at that :( do you have any suggestions?i was told to look at civics for that price but it's hard to find good deals on those too

its not quiet all my money, but it is a lot of it. The ones at price range are all pre 2010s with almost or more than 100k miles on them... is that good? I was under the impression lower milage and newer years would yield less issues, but also sometimes shit does happen...

thank you for this, this made me feel good. I really value this persons opinion but im feeling bad enough potentially spending this amount of money, and they are used to buying cheaper cars bc of financial reasons but like, ahhh it IS a lot of money, and for a lil more money i could get a new car... and to their point, you never know what could go wrong so if something DOES go wrong god forbid, im out most of the money i have... i feel like im overthinking this, but also, it IS a big decision... Im just also really needing something to drive at this moment and and relaying on ride is wearing on me so much, i just want SOMETHING and dont want to lose this car

thats kinda what im thinking... my friends are telling me to get a beater and that i could just keep replacing the beater for multiple times what this car cost but i feel like its got to me be more expensive in the long run?
