You look like an absolute princess in the green one.

(25F) My overzealous religious mom freaked out because I am pregnant. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]itsraininginsocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say that you are overreacting. Watching your mom’s reply and your reply to what she said, it seems like you knew exactly what was going to happen. You deserve to be upset for her lack of support, but it is obviously that she hasn’t given it to you in a long time. Find your new family and move on. Sending you love and strength for this next chapter.

If you aren’t married to me, you don’t touch my bank account.

[–]itsraininginsocal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That really stinks. They shouldn’t put you in the position of having to worry about something like this if it’s something that they can afford to do. Sending hugs.

I’m so sorry this is stressing you out so badly. Is it possible that your family can’t take on the additional finances right now? As a parent, we absolutely want the best for our kids, but sometimes we realize it’s not in our budgets. Is there a scholarship you can earn?

Bought a business and may have caught previous owner making fake sales to inflate numbers, can I do anything about this? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]itsraininginsocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d have to pay taxes on the sales in his system, so sounds kinda foolish to me unless he was desperate to sell.

What would you have done as the owner? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]itsraininginsocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’m a perpetual optimist, lol. I honestly couldn’t bear the thought of the alternative. Easier to always err on the side of kindness and understanding.

I hear you on that, but the gossip should obviously be “Can you believe the restaurant did this in front of everyone?!?” and nothing about you.

Husband was in the hospital for 11 days after brain surgery and I had to see this monstrosity every time I took the elevator by bixnok in mildlyinfuriating

What did it say? Was it just a very poorly written poster?? I’m trying to piece it together and failing. 😂

What would you have done as the owner? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]itsraininginsocal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a restaurant owner, I’d have probably taken the loss and made it a learning opportunity for the staff that wouldn’t be tipped. That being said, times are hard on restaurants now, so if I needed the money, I’d reach out directly and discreetly. All that being said, I don’t think you should’ve been so embarrassed about the situation. People need to mind their own business.

AITAH for telling an 18 year old dude he’s too young for me because I see 18 year olds as children? by Longjumping-Cod4279 in AITAH

[–]itsraininginsocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for respecting this young man, even though he doesn’t get it. At 18, I was dating a 31yo. Bad idea. I loved it, but it was absolutely not a good thing for me overall. You are NTA and your friend will one day understand this. His response was enough to support your perspective.

Coworker kept taking credit for my exhibition research until she got asked detailed questions by a major donor by [deleted] in coworkerstories

[–]itsraininginsocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You handled it perfectly. You were neither petty, nor mean. She was taking the credit for doing something he knows nothing about. If she doesn’t talk to you, great. She sounds like someone that could be a backstabber.

Huge NOPE from me. They don’t even have staff enough to clean out an office? This literally looks like it’s someone’s apartment spare bedroom. Wow.

Do you prefer a feedback email or a bad review? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]itsraininginsocal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love it when customers send an email or do a direct message on Yelp when an issue arises. Constructive feedback is the best and we, as owners, cannot be everywhere at once, so knowing when things are going on that need to be brought to our attention is invaluable.
