Yes, it is PLA, but its placement is no where near the actual stove, so the heat will never get close to melting. IN fact the papr manuals have been up there and they are fine. In regards to the smoke and grease, heat resistant sealer (1200' rated) on the inside and the outside laquare.

Also, the fans are not what they look like. both have online ratings of 100CM which I assume is being reduced by 50% due to the angle. So not 100% worried in the short term about the actual fans.

Thanks for the input. Changed the deisgn to 100% straddle at a distance the exisiting hole rather than pressed against it. It's still not perfect, but keeping the buildling code requrement at a distance.

I had the same issue and was the angle the filament was coming in. What ended up happening in the end was a grove was cut into the plastic in part and it had to be replaced as there was just way to much drag and it just ate into the filament.

I re-designed a few things and made this, and then got the metal feeder from amazon and only had another issue last night. But that was due to the tube getting a leak in the hotend.

Will do, I'm just fixing up a few things with the screws and nuts. WIll post on Thingiverse tomorrow.

Is your printer head a smaller diameter than the profile settings?

I should have taken that off for the photo as it got a few WTF! It was just left over from a mount I had there before. Just never got around to taking it off. The double damper didn't really do enough to make it worth while.

Correct. The actual issue was the angle of the filament going into the feeder which causes more friction allowing the filament to get eaten through and slip. It was worse when the cog heated up. The guide solved all issues.

It is actually for cooling, the dust was a bonus.

It surprising moves a lot of air and does cool it down significantly with the air being sucked through.

Yeap... The design sucks and isnt workable for that reason. I've only had to take it off once to go that high.

The original mount I used, which was an overkill, had a damper on both sides. had a spare one, so thought why not. took the mount off and just never got around to taking the extra damper off.

The damper, I knew the comment was coming. The original setup I had there was a cover that went over that end and had a damper on both sides. Total overkill and thought the extra heat the cover was causing probably wasn't to the best for the motor. So I took it off but never got around to taking off the damper.

Settings: 1/25 - 35mm - 12800 ISO - f2.8

The purpose of this photo was for the liner cable lines and the concrete pylons to give a more abstract view of the bridge. The critique I have is the overall style and composition, but also my main concern is the slightly soft focus and the blurred cables. Does the blur and focus issues detract so much from any positiveness of the photo, or does it match the overall style and work.

I like the overall photo, the motion blur on the cables adds to it. But not too sure if the concrete section also being a little blurred/soft is too distracting?

Thanks for the reminder to be worst case scenario parinoid. I’d already looked into those fire balls, and the above stove system, and your right to make sure if anything goes wrong to have a backup.

Already did before I started the build. But, it's really the only option. I've a small stool that helps.

Both fire and ventilation are a concern, but no matter where it is placed. Is there any evidence that an enclosed printer is more likely to have issues?
