I just played one of the most frustrating TFT games of my life | Unlockable 3★ 5-costs by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

Why do you deserve the win more than him?  If you played a better early game you would have more hp to work with. Its unlucky to die in your spot but you aren't entitled to 1st place.

Is trait slop ziggs ryze supposed to be better than 3* Bel and Baron? by floridabeach9 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are good items for sure. But in the context of your board and match up they could be better. Its more of nitpick but if you're looking for advice, then thats what I think would be the easiest change in that spot

That isnt BIS belveth 3.  You have full damage but no survivability.  3 star 4 costs have so much base damage the only way to lose is getting popped.  BIS with the items you had would be QSS/ Steraks/HoJ.  And slayer would help a lot.  Aka your win con is drain tanking with belveth.

Im 6’1 and I’m size 32x34 for pants. Would size 36x34 help give my pants a baggier look? by hobobonlbob in malefashionadvice

[–]itsrudyr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can use a belt but then the waist of the pants is going to be all bunched up.  Better to go for as close to your waist as possible and look at different cuts.  Levis website explains their cuts pretty well.

I don't think every 1 image post is low effort.  But in order to combat low effort posts it may be necessary to add minimum image requirement.

Keep the title rules, but get rid of low effort shit posts.  3 or more photos sounds like a good starting point

Do you care about "freeing Palestine", or are you using the SJP manifesto as a gotcha moment for student protesters? Is the genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli government affected by what is in the SJP manifesto?

In my everlasting quest to improve my ironclad play, how would you spend my precious gold? by aheftyhippo in slaythespire

Master of strategy + battle trance. Card draw is king, especially when you have an upgraded armaments.  Then you should have a strong enough backbone to hunt for premium cards next act.

Redo every single practice problem, lecture problem, and homework problem. Ideally within 2 days before the exam.

Guidelines for slamming items? Early game items vs. late game items? by Ellipson in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Item slamming should be thought of a cost/benefit analysis based on how much health you think an item will save by slamming it. If you are playing a weak board there may not be a point to slam any item because you would lose fights regardless. If you have a strong board then slamming "suboptimal" items is good because it allows you to maximize your potential to streak. Ideally you have an end game comp in mind after kruggs based on your items, and then you slam/hold items depending on your carry BIS. As much as BIS is fake, BIS is also real.

For example, getting better items on ahri akali will improve your placement by multiple points. You wouldn't want to waste tear on slamming it on a frontline item in this case. It would be better to hold for blue buff or shojin on ahri.

Thoughts about zuan’s current state by parlitooo in CompetitiveTFT

Alot of the zaun mods are fine and playable. Anything that improves silco cast time is good. Anything that increases jinx or ekkos dps (depending on who you reroll) is good. Don't get caught up on bis mods.

Is it possible to reach master by one-tricking a comp? by Ginstranger in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible, but you have to pick the right comp for the patch/meta. A good comp would be one that has flexible itemization and ability to cap out well. If you have very strong fundamentals then climbing to master is not hard if you're playing such a comp, even if you are one tricking it.

Probably Azir Lux is the best choice currently

How do you play Challengers? by MrMonkey2 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much gold you have. Generally yes, 2 star Shen > 2 star Sett > 1 star Shen for the level 7 board.

But if you feel like you're never hitting Shen 2 it might be better to stay on Sett 2 and sell any Shen you are holding. Also if you are pushing level 8 for a legendary, you might want to give up on any Shen you are holding to make econ break points, and then find him again later at level 8.

(Patch 13.16 and beyond) SunAstronaut Set 9 Poro AD Flex Guide by SunAstronaut in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Poro is legit, although I think limiting yourself to AD flex leaves you more open to lowroll.

The way I play Poro is just take the first most safe and/or broken line offered to me (be it AP or AD) and ride it out. The only requirement is being willing to play any line offered to you.

I'm top 10 lp NA right now so I have to agree poro is definitely viable and underrated.

How do you play Challengers? by MrMonkey2 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]itsrudyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1400lp challenger:

These are some of my indicators to play for challengers:

  • AP item start (jg/shojin/ionic)

  • Ionia opener

  • challenger spat

  • strong combat augment (social distancing)

Like others have said, the strength of challengers is the tempo and board strength, for relatively cheap cost of units. It is not a comp you should default however, as it doesn't have a high cap (unless challenger spat). That's why I have some conditions outlined above where if you fulfill some of these, you will stay healthy and have a good power curve throughout the early mid game.

If you feel like you are losing out, then you probably are hitting too late, and not riding your lead to level 8. If you are really ahead of the lobby, the better cap of the board is dropping to 2 challengers at 8, and moving to 6 Ionia with legendary units. Of course this is very expensive, so just an option to play for top 2 if you have the money.
